❝ new friend ❞
sarang woke up with bags under her eyes, she splashed water onto her face repeatedly for three times, wiping them with a fluffy towel afterwards.
she wore her uniform, straightening it so it looks more representative. she pinned her name tag, slinging her backpack over her shoulders as she slipped on her shoes.
she stepped on the concreted floor of the school, her expression was back to how she was last time; cold. her face washed over coldness and blank. she wasn't in the mood for sure.
even on one of her moody day, just someone needs to make it worst, and that someone is obviously named samantha.
"oh hello," she said, with a oh-so familiar smirk. sarang did not have the energy; or even the mood to entertain her. not that she plan to anyways.
she left the smirking girl there, the smirk fell and turn into a frown, as she thought she could annoy sarang. she stomped towards the soulless girl to her locker, attempting to annoy her again.
she tried a lot of methods; ruffling her hair, smacking her head, kneeing the back of her knee, but nothing seems to be working. sarang felt her blood boiled, she face samantha with a look of emotionless.
"you better stop or you'll regret," sarang said, her voice laced with nothing but boldness.
"you think-" samantha chuckled, but stop as she saw sarang's eyes filled with hatred; mostly because she's planning on ripping samantha's head.
she left the sarang alone, not forgetting to send a glare. she slammed her locker door, heaving a sigh before walking to her classroom.
her classmates give greeted her with a stares she glared at them which resulting them to quickly look away like nothing happened. she sat on her seat, slumping into it.
she laid her head on the table, telling her desk mate to inform the teacher she's sick before drifting to sleep. the ruckus that her classmate made, did help her drift to sleep, maybe a little but it did help.
sarang felt someone poking her, well at least that's what she felt. her eyes fluttered open, revealing her deskmate; yoo jina with a smile plastered on her face. "it's recess already," she informed, making the girl nodded, letting out a yawn as she stretched.
she grabbed her lunchbox, about to leave until someone grabbed her wrist, and that someone is of course jina. "wait," she said, sarang looked down to their hands. jina immediately let go and muttered a 'sorry' before proceeding what she was about to say.
"do you want to have lunch with me?" she asked, nervously as she bit on her lip. sarang tried to process everything, maybe because no one had ever asked her to lunch.
"it's okay if you don't want to, i just want to be your friend," she said, a tint of sadness laced around her voice.
"sure," is all sarang replied, it was about time for her to make friends. her parents were worried but accepted that she wanted to be alone.
"really?" jina asked, shocked with her answer. no one really ever dares to talk to her or tries to be her friend, she was happy that sarang did not turn her down or what so ever.
"yeah," sarang replied, with a smile plastred on her face. they walk out of the classroom together, heading to sarang's little area.
"this is such a great place," jina said, observing her surroundings as she sat down on the soft green grass. they both took out their lunchbox, eating their takeaway while laughing at jokes they would crack from time to time.
sarang knew for sure she had never experience something 'friendship-like' as this, and most importantly she was glad she had made a friend.
