"You... You want to go back to Afghanistan?" He asked. Halata sa mukha niya na hindi siya makapaniwala sa naririnig.
"Yes," I answered.
"Oh, Margaux. This is quite... surprising."
"Yeah, I know." Tumango tango pa ako. I waited for him so say something again.
"When will you come home? Your mom-"
"I'm here to talk about my request of going back to Afghanistan. I'm not here to talk about that." His mouth parted, hindi inaasahan ang sagot ko.
Siguro, kung dati nangyari ito... Kanina niya pa ako sinigawan. And it's also surprising to see him not shouting at me. O kahit man lang ipamukha niyang galit siya sa akin. Did he find what I did disrespectful?

"I'm sure he's been dispatched to Syria. It's impossible to happen." I coldly stared at him. Hinihintay muli siyang mag-salita.

At isa pa, sa Syria talaga siya nakadestino. Kaya imposible nang magtagpo ang landas namin. Not unless, Dad gives him the mission.

"How long do you plan to stay there?" Tinanong niya sa akin. Bigla naman akong napaisip doon.
