"Are you sure you still want to do this?" I ask my boyfriend as he carries his things to the door.

"Yeah, I do." He chucked, looking at the worry and concern plastered on my face. He sighs and walks closer to me. The sound of thunder makes us pause momentarily to look up to the ceiling and look back to each other. He takes a few more steps towards me and puts his bags down.

"You'll be fine," he said, with his hands on my shoulders for reassurance. I take a deep breath and sigh.

"Yeah you're right." I look down at our feet and look back up into his deep brown eyes. "But do you HAVE to go?" I whine. Another sound of thunder is heard but it's even louder, making me jump from fright. He laughs at me and shakes his head.

"Babe,"

"I'm sorry, I just don't feel like it's safe out there for you to go visit family," I confess.

"I told them that I was coming, so they'll be expecting me, I really need to go now before it gets any worse out there," he explains.

"Fine." I pout, crossing my arms to glare at the floor.

"Hey," he says softly. I look up. "I'll call you when I get there, okay?" I give him half a smile and nod in understanding.

"Okay," I sigh. "But I want you to be careful Cal, no speeding and no texting while driving," I say in all seriousness.

"Yes ma'am," he smiled.

"Now come here," I put my arms around his neck and he pulls me in by my waist and kisses me. We pull apart and he opens the door. It's grey, a little foggy and rain is heavily pouring from the sky.

"Bye (y/n)," he pulls his hood over his head, unlocks the truck, grabs his things and runs to the truck, getting in swiftly before closing the door behind him and waving one last goodbye to me, starting up the truck and driving off.

I close my eyes and let out another sigh before opening my eyes to close the door and lock it. I take out some leftover Chinese food and warm it up in the microwave and go into the living room to find something good to watch while I wait. I hear my phone vibrate and go off against the mahogany coffee table and pick it up to see a text from Calum.

'Miss you already xx'

I roll my eyes and smile at the message before sending my response.

'Then you should come back ;)'

The microwave goes off and I hear another message come through. I'm in the kitchen, getting my Chinese food from the microwave and placing it on the table in the living room, swapping it with my phone.

'You know I can't do that'

I start typing to respond but that's cut off with an amber alert coming across my phone and nearly scaring the scrap out of me from how loud it is. I swipe it out of the way and assume it's about the weather and reply to Calum.

'I know :('

I start eating while I watched the incredibles and soon enough I'm interrupted with a hasty knock at the door.
