Your p.o.v

You've been working overtime to get extra money and keep your mind off of Luke lately because you missed him terribly while he was still on tour and wouldn't be back until further notice, so when you finished your shift you immediately took your phone out to look for any new notifications but there weren't any. You sighed and put your phone back into your pocket and made your way home because it's been a rough night.

-

Once you reached your destination you got a call from Chloe (one of your best friends) and answered.

"Hello?" You said as you fumbled with the keys with your ear holding the phone on your shoulder.

"Heeeey!" She said in a chirpy tone.

"Why are you so happy!?" You said giggling into the phone.

"Turn around!"

As you turned you saw her jumping out of her car rushing over to you, crushing you in a bear hug.

"Umfhjdpson"

"What?"

"I can't breathe."

"Oh sorry c'mon we need to talk. Like now." She said as she opened my door and plopped down on the couch.

"So what is it?" You said as you sat next to her.

"I don't know why but I don't trust Eva." She said dropping the happy face with a more stern one.

"You said this before. And she's my best friend too." You stated.

"But since when!? A girl doesn't just magically become your best friend out of nowhere for no reason!" She said throwing her arms in the air but she had a good point...

"That doesn't mean anyth-"

"Yes it does. How long have you two been bffs all of a sudden?" She said with quotation marks around the word 'bffs'

"Well, uh. Like a year ago?"

"Yeah and how long have you and Luke been together?"

"A year and a half. But that doesn't mean anything. It's just a coincidence." I stated.

"Huh. You're obviously not smart enough to put two together." She said but continued.

"I think she's only trying to get to you to get to Luke." She said sighing.

-----------

"I don't think she's possibly-"

"She is! I can see it! She may seem all angelic and innocent to you but she's not! Just face it!" She yelled and it hurt and she clearly saw that and reached out for me in an embrace.

"I'm sorry, (y/n) I just don't want you getting hurt by that spineless bitch." She said in her best calm voice.

"It's okay. I love how you're watching out for me." You smiled.

"But if you can't prove it then you were wrong okay?" I said and she nodded eagerly with her blond curls bouncing and her green eyes jumping in joy.

"Call her." She commanded.

"But what does that have to do with-"

"Just do it!"

"Okay, okay!" I reached for my phone and put it on speaker but there was no answer.

"Now try Luke's."

I dialed Luke's number but he didn't answer either.

"See. Told you so."
