Kat's POV

I wake up stirred. I had a weird dream where I wanted to talk to my family but they couldn’t listen to me.

I check my phone and notice that today is November 20th.

I don’t how to react but I think I am feeling nauseous.

Today is James’ birthday.

I just feel like punching something or break something and that wouldn’t be enough.

One year ago everything was different, we had started dating exactly two months from that day and we were happy. At least I was happy.

It was James 16th birthday.

"All our friends stayed at the park and me and James decided to go for a walk.

We are walking to the beach, I just can’t stop smiling.

“I think you’re more excited about my birthday than me.”

I laugh.

“So how it’s going to be tonight?” I ask him.

“We’re going to my house, have dinner with my parents and then stay there.” He replies.

Actually he is wrong, after dinner me and his friends are taking him to a surprise party.

We are holding hands and it feels so good, he makes me feel so happy.

We arrive to the beach and walk for a while.

I love to hear the sea, it relaxes me.

“Can we sit?” He suddenly asks.

“Sure.” I say to him.

We sit and he never drops my hand.

I feel like I want to be like this forever.

“Kat…” James says.

“Yes?” I answer and look at him.

His green eyes are looking at me.

He hugs me tight and then looks at me again.

“I love you.” He says.

It’s the first time he is saying it, none of us has said it before.

It feels so good hearing that but I don’t know if I heard it right.

What should I do? What if he didn’t say it?

What if it was my imagination?

“Really?” I say with a smile.

Really? “Really” was the only thing I managed to say?

“Yes.” He replies smiling.

“Say again please.” I ask him.

“I love you.” He says and hugs and me and kisses my neck.

Yes he said it!

“I love you too.” I say smiling.

And we kiss.

While were kissing he lays down and puts me on the top of him.

“We are going to be together forever.”
