When a storm is brewing or appearing out of nowhere, birds are very strong and are able to withstand the pull of the currents. They either find shelter or face the issue face on.

That is what you related your situation with Michael. You could either hide away until the storm passed over or faced the storm head on; not knowing what could happen when it had passed over. Both were a risk you were unsure whether you were willing to take, for a man who made it seem so easy to forget all about you.

"Are you okay?" Maria asked as the two of you headed to the hotel you were staying at - near the tracks.

"Yes, I just saw Michael that's all." You say as you change from your dress to something far more comfy.

"Oh shit" She mutters as she pulls your face to look at her. "It didn't go well did it?"

"I don't even know" You tear up as you look to your best friend, who indulges you in a huge hug.

"What happened?" She whispers and you wipe your tears.

"He wanted to talk to me." You mutter; using a tissue to dry your nose. "He wants to meet me tonight at the race course at 7 to talk about everything."

"So go!" She encourages you. "You can't have bad blood with him forever Y/N"

"True, but I don't even know his anymore." You whisper. "What if I am afraid of the person he has become?"

"Then you don't have to see him again." She raises an eyebrow and you frown at your smart friend. "And if you like who he is, then stay and work things out."

"That's what I am afraid of." You stutter as you look towards the window; out into the busyness of the city.

"Of what?" She asks as she stands where she is; watching you intently.

"That he has changed" You whisper and bite down on your lip to stop you from crying even more.

"Give It a chance." She says. "Plus, you are not exactly doing it for Michael, you are doing it for yourself."

"I guess you are right" You sigh as you fold your arms against your chest.

"Well if I am right and you are going." She says as she looks to the clock. "It is 7pm, so you better go to him."

"Fuck!" you squeal as you rush out the room; running the tracks and ending up to be about 10 minutes late.

As you turn around, you don't see anyone there. Panicking because you think he is has left, you walk around the place.

"Michael!" You call out, scared ever so slightly.

There was silence.

You walk away; a tear slipping down your face as you walk to where you first saw Michael by the toilets.

With one second, you felt someone push you to the corner of the wall and putting a hand over your mouth.

"Stop!" Your voice is muffled because of the hand.

"It's me" You hear Michael say as he takes his hand down and signalling you to be quiet by putting a finger to his mouth - which you can just see over the dimmed light.

"Michael" you whisper afraid.

"Y/N, stay quiet sweetheart, please" He begs and you nod your head; him seeing how scared you are, he pulls you into his chest.

You hug into him as you you listen at the sounds of gunshots; flinching every time you hear the sound.

"They're not here" One voice says.

"Lets go" another says and they leave the gates beside you.

"Michael" You stutter as you look up to him.

"Stay here while here while I'll go check" He says and you pull his hands to stop him from going.

"No, that's too dangerous." You beg him and he has a slight smile on his face.

"You care?" He grins.

"Of course I do" You smile shyly and he leans forward, kissing your cheek as he quickly leaves to scope the area.

"Fuck Michael" you groan as you watch him leave.

Looking around the small area after a few minutes, you step out into the "open" and has a look around the place.

As you walk around, you look to see no one here. It was so silent. It was not a scary silence either.

"Michael?" You whisper and there was no reply as you walked around the place.

Just as you took the next turn, you smacked into someone and the fell to the ground; kicking your legs and bringing you down too - but making you fall on top of them.

"Ah!" You scream as you fall on the body. Looking down, you are face to face with Michael who groaned in pain. "Michael!"

You hit his arm as you looked down to him. He smirked to you as he brushed your hair away from your face.

"Just like old times" he whispered and you blush, but he can't see due to the darkness - which you were thankful for. "The time in the forest-"

"- I remember" You sigh with happiness as he turns the two of you over on the grass; so he is leaning on top of you.

"Y/N, I want to say sorry-" he begins but you cut him off again.

"-Please Michael, don't apologise for something you don't mean." You groan as you look to his eyes.

"I do mean it" he groans. "I didn't want to leave but I wanted to be the real me Y/N. What I am involved in, is not safe for you."

"What is it that you so badly want to keep away from me?" You frown as you put a hand on his cheek. "Tell me Michael."

"It is too dangerous" He sighs and puts his hand on top of yours on his face.

"Please michael" You beg more. "It is what took you away from me."

"Y/N, I want to protect you" He whispers as he comes closer. "I really want to tell you everything sweetheart but I can't."

You nod your head, understanding why he can't.

"Will you come to my hotel room with me, so we can talk?" He asks and you smile widely; nodding your head.

"Yes" You say as you go to sit up; Michael helping you to your feet and making you up against his chest.

"Y/N..." he stutters as he puts a hand to your cheek.

"Yes?" You whisper back as you edge forward.

"I want to kiss you..." He says and you bite down on your lip; feeling weak at his touch and words.

"Then kiss me" You whisper and he moves closer to your lips.
