Just A Shadow ~ Part 25

I soothed the bottom of my skirt, and took a look at myself at the mirror. I gave myself a little twirl as I did so, trying to see if I was satisfied with my look.

Yes, yes I was.

I took a look at how nicely I cleaned myself up for Travis. My Adidas were clean, looking shiny and new. My skirt was pretty, and I had a pretty striped shirt over it. I also added a little flower in my hair for extra touch!

Although, I would have doubts in mind. Maybe I'm going too far, maybe he's going to ditch me and leave for someone else, maybe he doesn't even like me, maybe-

MYPHONERANGMYPHONERANGMYPHONERANG!

I searched for my phone in the mess of clothes everywhere, scattered in my room. I had to search for the perfect outfit, of course it was gonna be a mess.

But then again, when was it clean anyway?

Travis: Omw, hbu?

I squealed at the thought of him already driving towards my place, awaiting for me. I wonder how handsome he looks, I haven't really seen him outside of school!

Me: almost ready, thx for driving me there!

Travis: np anytime

I smiled lovingly as I shut off my phone, and took one last admired look at myself before sneaking out of my room and to the front door. I had to make sure he wasn't gonna be here while I had someone take me out, specifically Travis! No way, I told him dad needed him at the mall. Hopefully I have time before he comes back home in rage and finds out I lied to him.

As I was walking down the stairs, I heard a honk from outside, and a ding from my phone.

Travis: outside

I took a deep breath as I stuck my phone in my pocket and held the knob for the door.

Don't mess this up, don't mess this up, don't mess this up.

I leave the house, and see Travis in a yellow shirt and jeans. He motions me over inside the car as I excitedly hop in.

"Hey Y/N, ready to go?" He asks, smiling towards my direction.

"Yeah, I am!" I replied, making sure not to freak out. 

Travis nodded and drove off, towards the park.

We actually a relaxing and fun time at the park. We wandered around and pointed out some things we found pretty cool, we sat down for a bit and told some jokes, and we played soccer for a bit, since Travis brung his soccer ball.

We got icecream after that ;I got favorite/flavor and Travis got mint. We sat down at a bench and just licked our icecream.

We were chilling from our encounter with the Shadow Knights, since we came across them when we were walking around all the trees.

"Hey, it's all cool, don't worry." Travis reassured me.

"Thanks, but they're just s pain in the butt." I said, rolling my eyes.

Travis chuckled and ate the rest of his icecream. He then looked at his phone and muttered a curse word.

"Look, I gotta go, my parents wanted me home by 8. Want me to drive you there?" Travis said, getting up.

"No thanks, I'm good." I said, waving goodbye at Travis as he rushed off.

He was a keeper.
