The next morning, Adaline woke bright and early but this time by her own choice. Clearly she was beginning to get used to this lifestyle. She got ready before walking downstairs and had breakfast with the family like usual.
Adaline had hoped to see Noah again today and hopefully do the same things they did yesterday. She enjoyed being in his company and realised that he wasn't that much of an arse at times and could actually be a decent person.
She sighed as she ate her pancakes before finishing up and just as Aunt Carol was cleaning the dishes she turned round.
"Adaline, I was wondering since you've only really been around this area. Maybe you'd like to come with us to town today? We were going to go to a few shops and wondered maybe you wanted to come along, saves you from being stuck on the farm for too long?" Aunt Carol asked and Adaline waited a moment before replying.
She had wanted to stay and maybe meet up with Noah again, but she didn't want to be rude and decline her Aunts offer so instead she agreed to go.
"Yes okay" she said and her aunt smiled back.
"Okay great! We'll leave in about an hour or so. It's just you, me and Charlotte today as Oliver is at his friends house for the day" she added on.
.................
The town was very small, much smaller then the one back home. There were approximately 10 shops around the area, not what Adaline had expected.
"Well this is fun.." Adaline whispered to Charlotte as they followed after Aunt Carol who was browsing in a lot of old fashioned shops.
"I know right, I would've rather stayed home and helped clean out the pigs" Charlotte replied rolling her eyes before they both laughed.
"Hey Mum, can me and Adaline go off for a bit maybe?" Charlotte exclaimed as her mother peered at some scarfs.
"Yeah of course honey, here's some money why don't you guys go get yourself some lunch?" Aunt Carol replied handing Charlotte some money before Adaline and her headed off to the food hall.
They ordered some food before sitting down at a table which overlooked the park. There was a large water fountain in the middle and around were trees and grass filled with beautiful flowers.
Although this town was a bit boring, Adaline couldn't help but admit the fact it was very beautiful to look at.
"So about you and Noah" Charlotte went to say and Adaline stopped and turned to meet her eyes clearly wondering what she was about to say.
"What about him?" Adaline asked pretending to not remember the connection they had, had.
"What do you mean, what about him? Are you kidding me. I saw you guys that day at the barn and where were you most of yesterday until last night hmmm?" Charlotte teased clearly not being oblivious to what was going on.
"Okay, okay fine we have been hanging out a lot recently. It's just ever since I got here he's been so interesting you know, there's something about him; something different" Adaline admitted.
Wow she hadn't said that out loud to anyone yet. Now finally speaking it out to Charlotte she did begin to feel it was true. There was something about him, something that she hadn't felt towards any other guys before, it's like with him there was always something new he wasn't just an open book. She liked that, the mystery.
"So have you done it yet?" Charlotte blurted out as Adaline took a mouthful of her pasta. She chocked nearly spitting it out.
"Charlotte!" Adaline exclaimed, dabbing her mouth with a napkin, her eyes wide in shock her cousin had just asked that.
"What? Have you?" Charlotte added on clearly not getting the memo.
"No? No we haven't we hardly know each other" Adaline snapped back, feeling her cheeks begin to burn up, just thinking about it.
"Okay, okay so have you kissed?" Charlotte blurted out once again.
"No! God you don't stop do you" Adaline shot back laughing slightly.
She hadn't expected her cousin to be this way but she was glad she was, she was more fun to be around this way. She reminded her a lot of her bestfriend Evelyn, which made things easier when she felt homesick.
Charlotte finally gave up asking questions luckily before they went back to eating their food again.
