After a few days Noah was eventually transferred to the hospital nearer to his home, one back in Devonarch.
The days leading up to them Adaline had consistently stayed by his side everyday for hours on end.
Knowing that he would be taken back down and there was no chance of her being able to see him all the time was torture. Her parents had promised to try and take her up there as many times as they could throughout spaces in their work but she knew it wasn't enough.
She decided the only way was to drive up herself which she would struggle to do but she needed to. She may only be a new driver but she was determined to drive the long hours to Noah as many times as she needed.
She wanted to be by his side everyday of every hour waiting to be there when he wakes up. Because she knew, he was going to wake up. He had to, he had to wake up. He had to be okay, they were going to be together, they had to be able to.
He had gone back home where his father could be with him because being the only family he had left, his father deserved to be with him more than Adaline did, it was only fair and she understood.
She waited impatiently by phone by her at all times incase they called with any news. She went back to school but she wasn't focusing properly, her mind was elsewhere. Most people at school were aware of what had happened and stayed clear of Adaline giving her some space and not wanting to cause any harm to her when she was in such a state.
Evelyn had distanced herself worried how she may affect Adaline so Adaline was left alone. She didn't mind though, like usual she didn't mind being alone, she liked the quiet.
For the first two months, she would panic everytime her phone went off or made a noise, instantly thinking it was the hospital or news on Noah but everytime she was wrong.
She began to get desperate waiting and waiting for Noah to wake up, she hadn't expected it to be this long and she didn't know how much longer she could go waiting for him she truly felt lost without him. She felt like 2 months was so much longer and felt like it had been an eternity without Noah around.
............
It was Tuesday afternoon and Adaline was in her science lesson. She had her phone in her bag as by now she had given up on any hope that maybe something would happen. She was listening to her teacher ramble on about some elements.
She sighed as she rested her chin on her hand and tired to focus but she could hear her phone making noises. She tried to ignore it assuming it was just snapchats but it kept going off.
She began to wonder whether it was something else so she leant down into her bag pulling her phone out.
