Dil Ki Kushi.
(Happiness of the heart.)

"Tumhari hasi se chand bhi sharma gaya, tumhari kushbu se phul bhi murja gaya. Kis jahan se aaye tum? Ajeeb hain, Itne kam waqt me mujhe tumpe pyaar aa gaya."

"Even the moon shies  away from your laughter, even the flowers die due to your fragrance. Which universe  did you come from?
It is strange, in such a short span of time, I already began falling in love with you."

The Mirza household was filled with excited chatter of the desi women, giggling and teasing of young girls, the screams and shouts of the little kids that played cops and robbers, the hustling and bustling of the teenage girls as they got  ready, yet Naailah still felt as if the nervous thumping of her heart dominated all those sounds.

Today was the day of her Nikaah and Rukhsati. Only her close family who lived in South Africa, which were just a handful of people and close friends were invited today.

After the Nikaah they would feed the guests supper at their house and the actual huge Waleema, that her family from Pakistan would also attend would take place one day later, as the earliest flights that they could book was the day after the Nikaah.

They could have waited a little longer and then performed the Nikaah, but much to Naailah's surprise, Daaniyaal was adiment about having it as soon as possible, he was paranoid. He didn't want another broken engagement.

After the beautcain worked her magic on her, Hamna and a few of her friends had pinned her dupatta into place.

The women and men would be seated  separately so there was no need for her to wear her scarf tightly around her head, instead her scarf was elegantly draped like a typical desi bride.

Naailah had flat out refused her face to be plastered with make up, she didn't want to look like a porcelain doll. She just wanted the make up to enhance her features, not transform her into a new person. She was totally against heavy make up, she loved her face the way it was, there was no reason to deceive people by transforming herself into a whole new person.

Even though she was sad that her Pakistani family couldn't attend, she was also kind of gald that they didn't come, as she knew for a fact that all the brides in her family had applied heavy make up on their Nikaahs, so much so that she couldn't even recognise them when she had seen their pictures.
She knew they would have disgareed with her choice of light make up and would insist that she plaster her face.
