You changed and I became more cautious.

Naailah's heart jumped with anxiety, but she didn't stay to hear what Waqaas had to say. She was afraid, so so afraid. What would Daaniyaal think of her? Would he only be angry at his brother or would she get the blame too? Did he already suspect Waqaas's feelings, is that why he was upset the other day when he had seen Waqaas so near to her in the kitchen?

She couldn't believe Waqaas's audacity, even if he did like her, which she still found extremely weird, he should have stayed within his limits. Had he no shame? Didn't he realise he was about to come close to his brothers wife with an evil intention? Wasn't he feeling guilty about betraying his brother's trust?

She sat on the bed, burying her face in her hands. This wasn't supposed to happen, everything would be so awkward now! How would she continue living in this house, knowing that her brother in law fancied her?

For the first time today, she truly acknowledged that he was not her mahram and she made a firm intention to stay as far away from him as possible! There was a reason why Islaam forbade sister in laws and brother in laws from intermingling, but many ignored these laws or took it lightly.

She heard the door opening and she braced herself for Daaniyaal's angry yells and shouts. What she didn't expect was him to sit beside her and embrace her, while shaking with laughter.

She pulled away from him, looking at him in bafflement.

What was so amsuing ??

"Why are you laughing?"

Daaniyaal chuckled, while holding his stomach.

When he calmed down, he replied.

"I know it must have been embarrassing for you when Waqaas saw you all dressed up and saw your romantic setting in the dining room, but you didn't have to yell at him and smack him. It wasn't his fault, he didn't even know you were alone at home!"

She fisted her hands in anger.
Oh! So he had lied to his brother, what a snake!

She would just let this slide, but if he ever dared to do anything like that again, she wouldn't think twice before telling her husband what his brother was really intending to do.

Once Waqaas had finally decided to leave, they had their dinner together, enjoying each others company.

It was nice to be alone with his wife.
Daaniyaal was actually thinking about getting his own place soon. Since he got married, he craved for his own privacy and even though Naailah never ever complained, he knew that she would agree with him too. He didn't tell her his intentions though, he wanted to surprise her and also he had to first convince his mother before he began hunting for an apartment.

After she had neatened up the dining area and Daaniyaal had helped her to wash up the dishes, they retired to their room.

Daaniyaal used that opportunity to tell Naailah how much he loved her.

Both slept peacefully with content smiles, neither of them knew that that would be their last day of smiles and happiness. The days to come would be filled with unexpected twists and turns, anger and rage, misunderstandings and chaos! Their bond would never be the same again.
