Dangerous, indeed.

Third Person POV

"Damn it, where is she?" Normani muttered again as she ransacked the house in search of the girl.

"Mani?" Ally's voice came from the front door and the dark girl froze in her spot, having not expected Ally and Dinah to be back just yet.

She was followed by Dinah asking, Where's Lauren?"

Y/n POV

I patted my hand against my thigh in time with the beat of the song playing loudly in my earbuds as I tried to avoid crashing into anyone in the hallways. I was heading to my
last period of the day and for some reason I was feeling great, apart from the fact that Lauren hadn't been there in history nor sitting in the hang out area she usually does. Still, though, today had been going pretty well.

But, of course, being my clumsy self I ended up bumping into somebody despite my efforts not to.

"Sorry!" I let out as I crashed into the girl, sending her flying backwards but not before somebody behind her caught her.

"That's okay." She grinned politely and then turned to the boy who'd caught her and added, "Thanks, babe."

"Watch where you're going, bitch. Walking into my girl." The man snapped, shaking his head and making both me and the girl blush from embarrassment.

"Well maybe 'your girl' should watch where she's walking." Someone retorted from behind me, and I looked around in shock to see Racquel standing there, her hand now wrapped around my upper arm a little too tightly for my comfort.

"No, I-" I tried to explain but the boy seemed to almost cower away and nodded to Racquel before leading him and his girlfriend past us whilst I stood there frowning.

"Are you okay?" Racquel asked and that just made me frown even more.

"Yeah I'm fine."

She nodded and turned to go the other way before I got to tell her that she really didn't need to do that. Hesitating and puzzled, I slowly turned on my heels to continue walking until I saw Lauren leaning against the wall across the hall, staring i my direction. Something about her demeanour reminded me of that night at the party a few days ago and, curiously, I took a few cautious steps in her direction. When I noticed she wasn't just looking in my direction but that she was staring right at me with eyes so dark they were almost entirely black, a shiver ran down my spine.

Okay, so this just confirms my theory that she was and is high.

"Lauren?" I asked once I was a few feet away and she blinked a few times as though she had been daydreaming before looking at me with a gaze a little less distant.

"Y/n." She stated simply and lacking in almost all emotion. There was something there though, something snarky. I wasn't sure I liked it.

Third Person POV
—back at the house—

"I told you, she seemed perfectly normal and I was only gone for a few seconds, if that. I thought- she seemed- She looked to drained to even want to move but when I went back down there she was just gone."

"We've got bigger problems than how she got out." Ally pointed out, and the others tilted their heads in questioning, "Our biggest problem is where she is now."

Dinah and Normani look at each other for a second or so before saying, in synchrony, "The school."

Y/n POV

"Are you okay?" I asked as Lauren started walking towards me slowly, deliberately, as the last few students disappeared into classrooms. My heart rate rocketed as she tilted her head down so she was looking through her eyelashes at me and took another few steps. I started backing away just as slowly as she was following when a mischievous and strangely threatening smirk almost consumed her face.

"Shh." She hushed, her finger following a wobbly path to her lips where she held it for a moment. I stumbled when my leg caught on the lockers that had just started behind me, letting out a quiet yelp to which she chuckled; but it was an evil sort of laugh.

"Lauren, you're scaring me." I pushed out, and held a hand out to the space between us.

"Good; You should be scared." She muttered back and I swear, all I did was blink and all of a sudden she was inches from me as apposed to the multiple feet before.

A cold hand swiftly came up to rest on the bottom of my jaw and pushed it up slightly, and I felt that same paralysis feeling as before.

My breath hitched as she seemed to almost be examining my now very exposed neck before a burst of motion occurred that led to a loud crash echoing through the halls as she was thrown into the hallway, her hand being ripped from my chin leaving an ice-cold feeling there, and me stumbling backwards once more.

As I looked up from where I had fallen on the floor, I saw the dark-skinned girl (Normani, I thought) standing over where Lauren now slumped against the metal lockers, looking up at Normani with a fiery glare. Then the tallest of the two looked down at me for a brief second. With another blink they were both gone.

"Y/n?" Camila asked, seemingly coming out of nowhere and kneeling beside me. She too seemed to examine my neck but only briefly before she looked up into my eyes, reaching out and resting a gentle hand on the side of my face.

"I don't think I was joking about being drugged, Camila, because I'm pretty sure I just hallucinated." I commented, not really thinking as I looked about myself in confusion. Whatever had just happened couldn't be real, I knew that much, but it felt so realistic.

"How did you get here so fast?" I questioned, and she opened her mouth to reply but hesitated for a moment as she helped me to my feet.

"You didn't get to Mr. Hopkins' class so I volunteered to come look for you." She grinned and I just nodded as I rubbed the back of my head, feeling a soreness there.

I knew one thing now, though: if what I'd seen was real and I hadn't been drugged at some point or was sleep deprived or... anything else that can cause hallucinations, then everything I'd been told was right. Lauren was dangerous.

If only I knew just how so.
