Throughout the day, my mind was clouded with her again. I thought over the kiss which I probably shouldn't have been dwelling on, I thought over the fact that she would have to move on at some point, and that I didn't want that yet either, and I thought over the wolves that'd been watching us so creepily. She must've sensed my nerves because there were multiple points throughout our History class when I felt waves of calm roll over me, causing me to take deep breaths and close my eyes to make them last. Every time, I looked over to see her watching me with a smirk that reminded me so much of the one she wore my first day of school, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Jauregui! Hood. Down." The teacher ordered for the fifth time, and Lauren was evidently tired of letting herself get away with it. She rolled her eyes and pulled the hood from her head, freeing her tight ponytail from the fabric's confines.

"Damn..." I accidentally whispered as she pulled said ponytail out from where it was still tucked into her hoodie and swung it around a bit to make sure she'd freed all of it. I heard Jade sigh heavily in disapproval, but quickly disregarded it as Lauren caught me staring and sent me a wink.

God damn, what is this girl doing to me?

Normani caught it too, and smiled mischievously as she took in the two of us, and Dinah wiggled her brows suggestively which made me blush yet again. Meanwhile, Ally was actually paying attention to what the teacher was saying, even though she basically knew the textbook by heart.

"What's wrong?" She asked as soon as I stepped out of the classroom, falling into the space beside me as I made my way to my next class even though we didn't share it.

"Well 'hi' to you too, Lauren." I joked, leaning into and pushing against her side a little but she didn't budge, of course, "And, it's nothing." I added and she raised her brow at me.

Her pointed look convinced me to confess, "I'm just still a little scared that something's going to happen to you, Laur." I sighed and she smiled slightly and put an arm over my shoulders, ignoring the weird looks we got from the people in the hallway.

"Y/n/n, I'll be fine." She promises and I nod slightly. I'm still worried. It's not every day that you think someone you care about is going to be attacked by a bunch of angry werewolves.

"Okay." I sighed and tried to convince myself that she was right, but it was tough.

"Why is everything so complicated?" I questioned when we turned to corner into a slightly quieter hallway, and she stopped us both by stepping in front of me and holding my head in her hands, her thumbs rubbing against my temples soothingly.

"Hey, it'll all calm down, I promise." She said and then reached one hand down to her pocket to retrieve something. What she brought out of it was what looked like a shiny black pebble wrapped in wire and hanging from a string, like a necklace.

"What's that?" I asked and she put it over my head and tucked it under my shirt.

"It's a Jet stone; metamorphosed and fossilised drift wood. It helps sooth anxiety and fears and protects you from negative energy. Wear it and it'll calm you down when I can't." She simply said, replacing her hands on my head before leaning over and pressing her lips just above the space between my brows. My breath hitched and I froze in place but before I knew it, she was out of sight. I couldn't help but smile softly as I headed the rest of the way to class.

I'm sorry if there's a long time between updates but I have a whole lot of books that I'm working on now because I feel like that's how I do best and it makes me less likely to give up on one because I can't find any ideas, cause I just work on something else for a bit so yeah.
