Only the thudding of hooves could be heard, no human sound echoed, the voice of men were forbidden but Joanna's curiosity was not. Like a song sang by a siren, curiosity swayed Joanna step by step to the small window that suddenly seemed like it was a hundred miles away. Like someone possessed, Joanna walked towards the window, a smile ceasing her face forcing her eyes to beam with excitement and expectation, she was almost there, she was almost seeing the prince of RiverGreen Kingdom.

"Unless you want an arrow straight into your oblongata, I'd suggest you take a step back."

Maya's words, though whispered, rung audibly in Joanna's ears and like a toddler caught stealing, she slowly walked back to her bed.
"What we're you thinking Joanna? You could have gotten yourself in hot soup." Maya reprimanded but despite her words, Joanna was not close to feeling guilty. There was still a large part of her that yearned to see the man who sent shivers down her spine.

Heavy footsteps echoed in the hall, each step carrying a memory of its own, memories that Darius strived to keep behind him. He hated himself for always coming back home bearing nothing but bad news. There were  times he wanted to stay away until he finally had a good reason to come back home but every mission he embarked on always had an end. Breathing out, he forced himself to take another step, he had to face his mother, even though he brought her nothing but bad news.

Days had quickly turned into weeks but to Joanna, each day felt like an entire season. Ever since the prince returned, things in the palace had completely changed, no one went out as they desired, they spend hours and hours working and the prince never ceased to back orders at anything that moved.

His character was far from appealing but this did not stop Joanna from desiring to him.
"Everyone has a good side, the prince may not be as bad as people have painted him to be." Joanna said to herself while she scrubbed the muddy floor.
