Can't Fall For The Nerd

Chapter Twelve

Recap:

"So, what did you want to talk about?" He sat at one of the bars stools and began to remove his coat.

"Well, I was hoping to make amends."

"Okay, we'll talk. Now go. Time's ticking."

"First, I'm sorry I left. Second, I want to come back into your life. I'm living in an apartment close to down town. I want you to visit occasionally." He scanned my face.

"Okay. Is that all?" I knew I was being rude but I didn't really want him back in my life. Mom had done an excellent job on her own and I didn't want anything to change.

Scott walked up beside me. "I think times up." He said. My dad got up and put his coat on. He let himself out saying a goodbye behind him. If he couldn't even try to see me when he left, he wasn't reliable now.

Angela's POV

After eating a delicious meal of pancakes AND waffles the boys and I decided to go sight seeing. Our small town in Indiana didn't have much to see but was beautiful in September. The leaves of trees where beginning to change, the peaceful river flowed lazily through town.

"I've been thinking," Evan started.

"Uh-oh." Interrupted Scott.

"Not cool." Evan glared at Scott. "Anyway, I'm a senior and I should be going to college, right?" Scott nodded for him to continue. "Well, since you live in Indiana and all and you still have another year of high school, why don't I go to college at Butler?"

Scott looked shocked. I couldn't blame him. It was a huge move from NY to Indiana. Nobody spoke for a longe while. We where coming up to a park bench in the middle of the park. Evan sat down then Scott sat next to him, resting his head on Evan's shoulder. I awkwardly walked up and sat on the ground beside them.

"I thinks that's a wonderful idea." Scott finally spoke.

Evan leaned in for a kiss and I decided it was time to go. Walking away quietly, as to not disturb them, I started walking to Landyn's house. I couldn't help but feel the butterfly's that swarmed in my stomach every time I thought of him. His smirk alone sent my heart pounding.

The park alone was a half an hour walk from my house so I wa only a mile away from Landyn's. I took my phone out of my jacket pocket and texted,

To: Landyn

From: Angela

Is it okay if I come over? I'm bored and lonely.

It wasn't long before I got a reply.

To: Angela

From: Landyn

Of course. Anything wrong?

I was only a minutes walk away so I didn't reply. Soon enough it reached his door and knocked.

Landyn's POV

I heard the knock on the door soon after I got the text from Angela. I was home alone because my parents went to some business meeting and Carrie was at a friend's. I opened the door allowing a shivering Angela into the house.

"Well helo there, frosty."

"Hello to you, too. Don't make fun of me, I walked from the park." Her eyes glistened and a smile played on her lips.

"What the heck were you doing there?"

"I was with Scott and Evan but they decided to swap spit so I left." I couldn't help but smile. Every time she got close to me I could feel butterflies in my stomach and my heart began to pound.

"Come on, do you want some hot chocolate or something to eat." She shook her head. "Then how about watching a movie?"

She shrugged and I moved into the kitchen to make some popcorn. Everybody loves popcorn.

She decided on watching Pitch Perfect. I hadn't seen it yet but I bet it was a chick flick. I soon sat down and Angela snuggled into my shoulder.

"My dad came and visited me today." She said. I nearly choked. I had learned her father had walked out at a young age but I couldn't believe he would come back.

"And, what did he want?" I asked.

"He has a new apartment and he wants me to come visit him." I shrugged

"Are you?"

"I don't want to, but I will if you come with me." She turned to face me. Oh, the puppy eyes.

"I'll go with you." I gave in, "but if he says anything rude or insisting we are both leaving." She smiled at me.

She stuck out her pinky, "Deal." She said and we shook pinkies.

I was falling, and falling fast.
