Sam didn't hold onto the kid for very long before the kid pulled himself off and began shooting something at the ceiling. Charlotte glanced at Bucky in confusion as they took cover behind a newsstand and an informational podium.

"What the hell is coming outta that kid?" Charlotte exclaimed, bewildered.

"I have no idea."

Sam attempted to distract the kid, but it didn't seem to be working very well. So, Charlotte pulled an electronic poster off the wall. Then, she hurled it at where the kid was crouching on one of the rafters. She made sure it was on the right trajectory before she hid behind her post again.

"Good thinki-" but Bucky was interrupted by the kid yelling something.

"Hey pal, I think you lost this!"

Charlotte leaned out to see what he was talking about, but she was forced to duck out of the way as the electronic device was hurled right back at her. Bucky made to move towards her, but she waved him away and pointed to where Sam stood against the railing, his hands webbed to the poles.

"I don't know if you've been a fight before but there's usually not this much talking." Bucky sassed as he approached the kid from behind. He moved to grab the kid around the waist, but the kid jumped out of the way faster. Soon, Bucky was webbed next to Sam.

"Alright, sorry. My bad." the kid was quick to apologize after he trapped the brunette. He then made a move to swing into Sam, but Charlotte was faster and crouched in front of Sam just in time to take the brunt of the force.

They both went tumbling down onto the floor below, leaving Bucky back up top. As soon as they landed on the floor, the kid was quick to web Charlotte's metal hand to the floor so she couldn't use it against him.

"Guys, look. I'd love to keep this up but I've only got one job here today and I gotta impress Mr. Stark, so l'm really sorry." the kid continued to talk as he crouched atop one of the informational podiums. When he had finished talking, he prepared to shoot at them again, but Sam had a different idea.

One of his metal flying birds flew past the kid's wrist, latching onto it. Then, it pulled him away from Sam and Charlotte, out of the window, and down onto the concrete outside.

"You couldn't have done that earlier?" Charlotte sighed, glaring at Sam.

"I hate you." he muttered.

"That's not a nice thing to say to someone who lessened the impact of a child ramming into you." Charlotte retorted, attitude dripping from her voice.

"Yeah, well, I didn't ask you to do it."

"Please shut up, both of you." Bucky called from the upper floor. He was working on maneuvering a pocket knife out of his sleeve so he could cut off the webbing on his hands. A few minutes later, he was successful and had jumped down to the lower level to assist Sam and Charlotte.

"You two need to stop bickering and get along, at least until all of this is over. Then, you two just need to avoid each other like the plague." Bucky continued to lecture the two as if they were children.

"Whatever, Barnes." Sam rolled his eyes as he stood up and ripped the webbing off of his suit. His comment earned him a smack upside the head from Charlotte. He turned to glare at her, but she wasn't paying any attention to him.

Instead, she was wrapped up in an embrace with Bucky. The brunette placed a soft, chaste kiss to the top of her head. Her eyes fluttered closed in contentment. She never realized how much she actually missed, no craved, soft gentle touches. Not until now.

Now that she had someone who would give them to her whenever she asked, she wasn't willing to give that up. She wanted to salvage whatever was left of her relationship with this man and she was ready to begin rebuilding the rest of the relationship.

She knew it would take time and effort, but she had a feeling this man was worth it.

"Alright, let's get moving love birds. We gotta plane to catch." Sam called, already moving towards the exit that would lead them to the correct hangar bay. Bucky pressed another, slightly longer kiss to the top of her head before they moved to follow Sam.

The trio sprinted out of the airport and onto the tarmac, headed for the jet just like all the other members of their team. Halfway there, they met up with the rest of the team.

"Come on!" Steve yelled as he waved his arm to gather everyone behind him. Charlotte fell into step to Steve's right with Bucky on Steve's left. Clint and Wanda, Charlotte believed their names were, came up on her right side while Sam ran up on Bucky's left side.

Suddenly, a beam from above stopped the group of seven short as it burned a line in the concrete.

"Captain Rogers. I know you believe what you're doing is right. But for the collective good, you must surrender now." a man, or at least Charlotte thought it was a man, called from above as he floated down to the ground.

"I've seen some pretty weird things before, but that has to be the top of the list." Charlotte muttered to Steve. He chuckled quietly, but refused to let an amused smile slip over his face. For a few silent moments, the two sides glared at each other. Each person standing on the tarmac was sizing someone else up and preparing for battle.

"What do we do, Cap?" Sam eventually spoke up.

Without hesitation, Steve answered, "We fight."

Steve then stepped forward, the rest of his team falling into step behind him as they advanced towards the next part of their battle. Closer and closer the two sides got until they were right on top of each other.

Metal clanging, skin scraping against concrete, grunts of effort, gunfire, and many more sounds could all be heard as the two teams fell into battle. Within seconds, the man in the cat suit had a hand wrapped around Charlotte's throat.

In all fairness, Charlotte had her metal hand wrapped around his throat as well.

"I didn't kill your father." she muttered as they stood at a standstill.

"Then why did you run?" the man questioned her.

That was a good question: why did she run? She was innocent, so maybe she shouldn't have run so she would seem less guilty. But Bucky had told her that they were going to take her whether she was alive or not, so that probably meant they would have killed her.

She was okay with that thought at the time, but now she didn't want to die. Now, she never wanted to be taken from the people who had found her, who were attempting to help her, and who were attempting to put her back together.

She was starting to find a family again with her brother and Bucky and the rag-tag group that the two men had put together to help her. She realized just then that she would fight until her last breath for anyone on her side.

She was pulled out of her thoughts just then. During the time she had spent thinking, the man had gotten the better of her and had thrown her against a crate. Before he could sink his claws into her throat, the witch on her side had used her powers to throw the man away from her.

Charlotte took a second to thank the young girl before she threw herself back into the battle. She didn't know how it would end; no one knew how it would end. But she knew she would fight with all her heart until they had won, or worse, they had lost.

~

Whoops long time no update! I've had most of this part written out, I just wasn't sure how to end it. That's a lame excuse, but it's the only one I have haha. Anyways, I have something else to say.

Shameless self-promo, but I have recently started publishing parts for a Marvel one-shot book that I published a few weeks or so ago. I would love it if you all would take a look at it and let me know what you think and if I should continue with it or not! It's just where I write out little scenes that I think up, but that don't have a place in any of my stories.

It's called 'Marvel One Shots' (how original, right?) But, please check out the first four parts that I have written up & published and let me know what y'all think!
