"You look beautiful."
Jisoo doesn't know what to say so she went with the easiest reply she could muster. "Thanks."
"You ready?"
With all honesty? Her hair wasn't too grand nor was her face contained a lot of make up. If anyone saw her preparing, they wouldn't know she's going to a prom if not because of the dress she put on. She feels confident enough walking in heels but it was a bit more appropriate if she accepted the hand offered to her once Jinyoung opened the car door for her.
"What do you think? Did we do a good job?"
"It was rushed and I'd be surprised if no one appreciates the effort." She returned the smile, realizing they did wonders to the gym by turning it into an enchanted ballroom.
"You okay? Nervous?" He chuckled as he saw Jisoo eyeing the surroundings. "Don't worry. You look dashing. I don't think anyone can steal the spotlight from you."
The experience of having everyone's eyes on you can be thrilling but Jisoo almost cower when people literally gawked at them. Jinyoung's surely someone girls fawn over but when students stared at her more than she expected them to, she had to check if she left her shoe or if her dress looked funny. You can't make people stop and stare unless you're crazy beautiful and she wasn't like that. At least that's what Kim Jisoo thinks.
"I sure do hope it doesn't focus on me. I'll hide under the table if it did." Jinyoung laughed at that and Jisoo wondered if it was really that easy to make people laugh around her. Not that she didn't find that pleasing but she'd rather hear another person's voice. That one girl she wasn't able to talk to for two weeks straight.
"You'll look great under it. You deserve all the attention." She only smiled lightly because Jisoo never likes the attention. Her date's eyes strayed away from her and focused onto something behind her. "Unfortunately, there's another one that the spotlight might choose."
Jisoo turned around and saw what he was eyeing and the whole student body was staring at. Her breath hitched with every move that the newcomer in a bold black dress do. Their eyes locked for a moment and saw just how opposite they were. They were black and white. One looked too untouchable and fearlessly beautiful while the other was simply elegant but stunning all the way.
They would look polar opposite beside each other and people would most likely compare them. Even their partners wore their tuxedos to match with the girls. It would be better if they don't get together in one frame. Maybe that's what fits them when on the music starts and everyone gets in the mood.
"It'll be a goddamn mistake if it's not her."
Yet Jisoo thinks they would look good together side by side and not meters apart.
