XLVII : Encounters (John)

It'd been a month since Irene was shot and she was fully healed. Greg had been assigned the Diabolo case, we were being tasked with taking down the rest of the network. The seven of us made an odd sight to behold. Sherlock and Kara walked at the front, hands intertwined. Kara leant into his warmth and the detective had a vibrant smile on his face as they talked quietly. He looked happier than I'd ever seen him. Sara, Sam and I walked behind them. My arm was draped around Sara's shoulder as we chatted amongst ourselves. Bringing up the rear were Sierra and Irene who were walking side by side shooting each other glances when they thought the other wasn't looking. We stopped before entering the building and Sherlock turned to us. "I should probably warn you, there are some people who, who don't enjoy my presence at Scotland Yard, so just, just keep an eye out for Donovan and Anderson." I watched as the detective smiled down at Kara who'd wrapped her arms around him. He took a deep breath before entering the building. We attracted a myriad of stares as we walked, and I guess I understood. Two trench coat wearing detectives, two women who looked equally menacing and an ex convict, her ex assassin brother and the army veteran boyfriend, all walking into Scotland Yard. Sherlock paled slightly as he saw Donovan and Anderson step into view. "Oooh Look ! Freak boy's got himself an entourage." Said Donovan, an evil grin on her face. Anderson eyed up Kara "How much did he have to pay you ?" Sherlock visibly flinched and Kara looked like she wanted to strangle Anderson there and then. "At least he has someone, tell me Phillip, how is the wife ?" I spat. Sherlock smiled at me, before sweeping into Lestrade's office, the rest of us close behind. "Tell us what we have to do Geoff." I winced as Greg gave Sherlock a furious look. "Greg. But here's the plan. Sara, you'll be looking through Mateo's records, seeing if there's anything we can use to take down the rest of the cartel. John and Sam, you'll be doing the same thing but with Mr. Leone. Sherlock, Kara you'll be taking down their main warehouses in London. Finally, Sierra, you and Irene will be destroying their main headquarters which is based in London." We nodded and boxes of files were brought in for us to take back to 221B. We took one each, and walked outside of the office. Sally and Phillip walked into sight again and I internally groaned. "£100, £200 ? Come on, give us a hint. Freak boy couldn't land himself a disfigured hag, let alone someone like you." Taunted Anderson. "Honey, you can trust me, you don't want to go anywhere near that weirdo. Someone like you shouldn't be associating with such a psychopath." Said Sally. Sherlock was upset by now but Kara was shaking with anger. Sierra walked towards her, ignoring Irene's pleas. They shared a look before standing in front of the two officers. The sprang forwards simultaneously, Kara going for Anderson and Sierra going for Donovan. Kara kicked him in the groin and punched him in the face, Sierra slapped Sally in the face before aiming a kick to the stomach. The officers lay in the ground, the two girls standing over them. "I am in love with that weirdo and he isn't a psychopath, he's a high functioning sociopath, do your research." Said Kara.
"And Sherlock Holmes is 10 times the person you will ever be." Spat Sierra. Calmly, they walked away, picked up their boxes and exited the building leaving us rooted to the ground. "Are you mad ?!" Lestrade hissed, glaring but his eyes gave him away. They danced with amusement as he scolded us. "Now I will try to convince them not to press charges but you cannot do that ever again. Just stay away from them." Hurriedly, we muttered apologies and ran after them. "That was AWESOME !" Yelled Sara, shrugging when I looked at her in bewilderment. "You certainly put them in their place." Said Irene grinning. Sherlock said nothing, instead pulling Kara into a kiss, turning an alarming shade of red when Sierra whooped loudly and clapped. "What ?! Don't tell me no one else is thanking the Lord those two decided to get their shit together." I laughed at her enthusiasm, it was contagious. "Well, back to 221B." Said Sara and we began our procession home.
