Chapter 17

Stephanie was all I could think of today as I lay in my bedroom staring at the ceiling. I had to stay in after school in the study room. For the first time I found it boring staying in there but luckily Ryan got detention for pushing someone in the hallway so he kept me company while I was doing my work.

Ms Helen said she was in a meeting next door and from time to time she would check up on me. When she left Ryan sat on her seat spinning around then he abruptly stopped.

"How have you been?"
"I am OK." I said while typing.
"I felt so guilty about you getting stabbed. Mainly because you were on the way home from my house." I stopped typing and looked at him.

"Stop feeling guilty. It's not your fault."
"Are you still doing the investigation on Luke?"

Say no Callar you never know who wants to get rid of you.

"I have decided to end it. I will let the police do their job. I wasn't getting anywhere to be honest."
"But I think I found something." I continued typing for a while then I turned to face him. "What did you find?" He got up from his seat and walked to me. He then showed me a picture on his phone.

It looked like he had taken it from inside as his curtains were still visible on the left corner of the picture but it didn't affect how clear the picture itself was. It was of Stephanie sitting on a black guys lap while he sat on a brick wall. She was looking at him while he looked like he was talking to the person next to him.

There was like five other guys around him and they were dressed in black. Three of them were black boys and the other two were white.

Stephanie was the only girl.

I looked up at Ryan who was still studying the picture.

"I took it from my bedroom window. Now I am starting to wonder if I should just get a new phone because this phone camera is crap." I laughed at his explanation.
"No the camera is great. But who are these boys?"
"They are green snake."

What the bloody hell?

"Why is Stephanie with them?"
"I think she is dating the leader."
"Oh."
"Anyways I thought I would tell you. Maybe even send you the picture but since you aren't doing your investigation anymore I won't say anymore."
"No send me the picture."
"Really?"
"Yh."
"OK just type up your phone number here so I can WhatsApp it to you."
"OK."

And that's exactly what I did.

"What are you going to do with the picture then." I tried to give of the not caring about the case look but I knew I failed at it.

"I am not too sure yet."

I knew exactly what I was going to do with the picture. I am going to go back into Ryan's area and see if I can find the green snakes. Then I am going to ask them about their relationship with Luke and if they knew who his girlfriend was.

It's like they all lived and hung out in the same area so they should know something. When it was time to Leave Ryan offered to take me all the way home and I told him about how Daniel has taken my transport in his own hands.

He nodded and said bye while hugging me gently before leaving.
Before leaving I wrote Ms Helen a note knowing that when she finishes her meeting I would be gone.

The note stated that I would try and finish of my coursework at home and would be staying in after school tomorrow to work more on it. I left the classroom and closed the door before sticking the note on the door.

That would be the first thing she sees.

I went outside the school and spotted Daniels car. I rushed to it and opened the door before getting in.
"Wow you kind of scared me Callar."
"You didn't see me?"
"No I didn't."
"Oh okay. So how was your day Daniel?"
"It was busy. I had to interview a few students from your school and Lukes school to try find out who killed Luke. We have also been trying to find out who attempted to kill you too."
