Dear Harvey,
I was gonna start school next week,
hoping I could have fun
and also make new friends
as I revisited new ones
after a long summer,
but you wrecked my hometown into shreds;
and now I have an extended vacation
for the next two weeks.
I should thank you...
but I won't
because you don't deserve any kindness
for what you did.
You flooded some of my friends' homes.
You left destruction in your wake.
You left us with no choice
but to stay home,
All bored as we watched the news,
flooded freeways filling up the screen.
You messed with the wrong city-
and you messed with the wrong
new sixth grader.
