Chapter Forty

Vince ran over to me and cut my hands free before pulling me into his arms while I sobbed.

I fought against him trying to get free but he just held me tighter.

"Tell me you didn't mean it!" I yelled at him as I tried to get away.

I felt his lips against my ear.

"Of course I didn't f*cking mean it." He said in an angry tone. "I only said that bullshit so she'd be distracted. I needed to buy Phoenix time to find a spot and set up."

"Phoenix shot her?"

"He's the best g**damn sniper in the states." He said pulling away so he could see my face.

"I'm sorry I said those things but I needed her to believe me. Tell me you didn't honesty believe a word I said."

I cried some more. "You sounded so convincing. I didn't see your tell."

He placed a bruising kiss on my lips. "Never, Tesoro. Never will I pick someone over you. You're life is the only one that matters to me. I'd cut my own dick off before I'd even think about cheating on you."

"I'm sorry."

He shook his head. "Don't be. It's okay. It's all over now. Everything is finally over."

"It's over?"

"It's finally f*cking over." He said as Phoenix walked in.

"I wouldn't kill a pregnant woman for just anyone, you know?"

Vince scoffed. "You're a hitman. You'll kill anyone as long as the price is right."

"Didn't kill you, did I? I turned down three million."

"And I've paid you back tenfold, haven't I?"

He nodded. "That you have."

I looked down at Adrianna who now laid on the ground.

"She's really dead?"

"She's really dead."

"Her baby too." I mumbled.

"Told you before Juliet, I'll kill anyone who means harm to you even pregnant women."

"I know."

"Let's go home now." Vince said taking my hand in his.

"What about her body?"

"My guys will come take care of it."

"And Gio? He's going to be so sad. He loved her."

"She didn't love him though."

"Is he going to be angry at us or blame us?"

"He'll get over it, Bambina."

"Or he'll die mad." Phoenix added.

"Yeah, or he'll die mad."

We went back to the penthouse where Stefano was waiting.

"I'm so f*cking sorry, Bella."

I shook my head. "It's okay. She was already in the building before you went to take a shower."

"How'd she get in anyway?" Phoenix asked.

"Stella had a key. If we stayed here then she would too."

"Is that why Adrianna killed her?" I asked.

"That and we think Stella found out what she was up to."

"Why'd she kill Zeus?"

"Because she just wanted to be a bitch and torture you." Vince said.

"Well its all over now and we can finally move on and just live life."
