Chapter 34- Moving Together

Shawn's POV

Sabrina and I haven't seen each other for almost a month because she's too busy writing new music and filming, I think she's overloading herself with work again and this stresses me too: she seems to not care about her well-being. I know that she loves her job but this is too much, she can't keep working at this pace, she already spends almost nine hours a day on set and during breaks she won't even eat because she's too busy writing. I've been talking to Sarah about this and she seems worried too. I think that a distraction might be good for her: this is why I'm gonna surprise her and wait for her inside her house with a romantic chinese takeout, I think that this might be also a good moment to ask her to move in together, I bet that she's gonna be so thrilled about this. I want her to live in Toronto with me and near my family and friends. I just got off the flight from Toronto to LA and I'm tired af but I don't care because I'm gonna see my girlfriend soon, ery soon. I take an uber that leaves me right in front of her house. I get off the car, pay the driver and see that Sarah is waiting for me outside the house.
"Hey" I walk up to her a give her a quick hug
"Hey" She gives me the keys to Sabrina's home
"I'm glad that you're here: there's literally nothing that can stop Sabrina from working" She says with a worried tone on her voice
"No problem, I'll try my best to make her relax this weekend: no work." She nods
"So, what do you have in mind Mendes?" I smile
"I was planning on doing a romantic Chinese takeout and some Netflix and chill" She raises an eyebrow
Oh! Not that kind of chill, the other one: the one where you actually chill"
"Good, well, I gotta go now since I have to take care of a dog" She looks inside her car, where Goodwin is.
"It's fine Sarah, I found some medicines that make me stay alive around dogs" Her eyes widen
"Really?!" I nod
"Yup, so you can leave Goodwin here"
"Oh thank god, don't get me wrong, I love him but I can't always take care of him because I have a life as well"
"Really? I thought you spent your day watching TV with Peyton" I laugh
"Shut up" She opens the car door and picks up Goodwin
"Take good care of him" I take him from her arms
"Got it, see ya"
"Bye!" She gets inside her car and drives away
"So, me and you Goodwin?" He licks my nose and I chuckle
"Okay, let's get inside" I open the dorr and get inside the house, waiting for Sabrina

-six hours later-
Sabrina should come here anytime soon now, I ordered the food and I placed it on the coffee table in front of the sofa. I hear the soud of a door opening, finally.
"Surprise!" I jump in front of her and she screams. Before I can say anything else she pulls out of her pocket a pepper spray and sprays it in my eyes
"Agh!" I scream in pain
"Shawn! Oh my god I'm so sorry!" She grabs my hand and guides me to the bathroom. I can't see anything and it hurts so fucking much!
She opens the water of the sink
"I'm so sorry Shawn! Please forgive me" She starts washing my face with some water and I sigh in relief. After a while the pain goes away and I close the water
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm good" I groan
"You scared the shit out of me! What were you thinking?!"
"Sorry if I wanted to be a good boyfriend and surprise you! Why do you have a pepper spray anyway?!"
"You gave it to me before leaving saying that I had to use it when a guy would get too close!"
"Yeah, but not if that guy is your boyfriend!" She bites her lower lip, sign that she's sorry
"Do you want me to bring you some ice?" I shake my head
"I'm good now" I smile and give her a quick peck on the lips
"Let's go to the living room, I have a surprise for you" She's still worried
"Are you sure you're okay?" I chuckle
"Yeah, I'm fine now" I grab her hand and drag her to the living room where the food is
"What is this?" She asks me while I sit in the floor
"I ordered some Chinese food" She sits in front of me
"You shouldn't have" She looks at the food in awe
"I know that you haven't been eating a lot lately" I say worryingly
"Yeah, you know, I've been working and stuff"
"You should start worrying about your health though" She smiles
"I will" She always says this and never keep the promise. As soon as I leave she always goes back to overloading herself with work, this is also why I want her to move with me: that way I'll be able to watch her at every time, I will make sure that she'll eat and sleep like she should.
"Sab"
"Yeah?" She replies with her moth full and I chuckle at her cuteness
"Is there something wrong?" I shake my head
"You're just really cute" She blushes as her smiles grows wider. Damn I love her so much.
"Anyways, I have a question"
"Sure, what is it?" She keeps eating
"I was wondering if you would like to move in with me in Toronto" Her eyes widen and she starts choking
"Oh my god..." I hand her a glass of water and she drinks it
"Are you serious?" She gulps. I nod
"Totally, I thought that we've been in a relationship for almost two years and that I wanted to take this to another level" I sigh
"But if you don't wanna do this then it's fine, really"
"In Toronto?! What about my family and friends?! Why can't we continue doing it like this?! I mean, whenever you're gonna be in LA you're gonna stay at my house and viceversa"
"I'm sorry I was stupid I-I"
"No, listen: I think I would like to live with you but here in LA it's way easier to find a job and all the people I love are here. Why won't you come here with me instead?" What?!
"Sabrina, you can find job super easily in my hometown, look, I became one of the world's biggest stars"
"You're not Kanye West Shawn, I didn't leave my hometown to end up living in the cold of Toronto"
"And I haven't left my hometown" She takes a deep breath
"Then maybe you should get back there and stay" I clinch my fists in anger
"Fine then" I walk away. I don't know where I'll go but I need to get away from here asap. It's incredible. I hate Sabrina, she's been acting like a total jerk right now and I can't stand it.
I don't know why but now I'm front of Sarah's house. I decide to knock on her door and she opens it
"Hey?" She says with surprise
"Hey" I whisper
"Can I crash in for tonight?"
"Sure" I come in
"What happened?" I can't hold it anymore and I start crying
"Sabrina and I fought"
"Oh honey" She hugs me
"She doesn't want to move in with me and told me to go back and stay in Toronto" She slightly gasps
"You wanted to move together?" I nod
"Yeah, but she doesn't" I sob and she rubs her back
"Everything is gonna be okay, I promise"
