Chapter 86- The Truth

Shawn's POV

How could this happen? She was supposed to receive help, not getting more hurt than she already was! A week passed since that day and this is still unbelievable. It's my fault, I dragged her there against her will and now she's scarred.
I have so many questions to ask Sabrina but I know she's not ready to answer them, it was already hard enough to come out and say it out loud. She only told me the name of the employee who harassed her and as soon as I knew who he was I filed complaint after visiting the guy at his work place.

"Shawn..." I still can't believe that she was sexually harassed, I just can't. We're coming come from therapy, well, Sabrina is coming home, I'm just dropping her by, I wanna see this guy and tell him a few words.
"Sab, I'll be back in no time"
"But where are you going?" I look at the street
"Can you please get out of the car? I'll be gone for just a little bit" She just told me his name and all I gotta say is: I'm about to beat this bitch up. Nobody touches Sabrina in such way unless she wants to. No girl deserves this kind of treatment. I hate seeing her like this.
"Okay" She sighs and after she gets out I start driving at full speed towards the LA CADA.
"May I speak to one of your employees? His name is Harvey Stenley" I say to the lady behind the counter
"And you might be...?" She says in a pissed tone
"They guy who is gonna complaint against him and against this center if you won't let me talk to him" She opens widely her eyes in shock and calls him
"Hello? How may I help you?" It's him, I know it
"Yeah, your name is Harvey Stenley, right?" he nods with a smile
"That's me, you wanted to talk to me?" I smile in a non-friendly way at him
"Yeah"
"About what?"
"About my wife, Sabrina Carpenter" he now has a blank expression, as he had realized everything
"Remember her? I highly doubt so since I bet that she was one of the many women you harass daily, am I right?" He chuckles nervously
"Listen buddy, I don't know what you're talking about" I get closer to him
"Listen, buddy, you know very well what I'm talking about so" I grab him by the hem of his shirt
"I'm just here to tell you that you're gonna pay for this, you're going to jail and I'll make sure that you'll spend the rest of your life there" The urge to punch him in the face is very strong but I decide to let him go instead and walk away. Time to fill the complaint now.

Sabrina was so mad when I told her what I did, she didn't actually want to do anything against him because she wanted to simply move on but how can you do it?! It's simply impossible!
Anyways, she has to go to court next month to explain what happened exactly and I don't know if she's ready yet.
"Shawn?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you come here for a second?"
"Sure, do you need anything?" she shakes her head and pats me to sit next to her and I do as she tells me to
"I think I'm ready to tell you" I smile gently
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, you're my husband, you're the person I trust the most"
"I'm glad you feel that way"
"Besides, I have to practice for when I'm gonna be on court"
"Right"
"Okay so..." she tries to find the right words to tell me
"Want me to ask you questions and you answer them?"
"Yes, please"
"Fine: how did it happen the first time?"
"I was in my room and he asked me if he could come in to take my clothes for the laundry so I let him in and gave him my clothes" I listen to her carefully
"He then asked me why I was there and I went on a full rant telling him how much I hated you and how you left me there to have some time to yourself"
"Sabrina, I-"
"I know Shawn but I was two weeks in, I was still a mess and I was loosing my mind, I was vulnerable, and he used that against me" I pay attention to every word she says
"He told me that he could give me my pills if I let him...you know. I was considering it for a moment but then I said no" I can see that it's really painful for her to talk about this
"Why did you say no?"
"Even though I was mad at you I still loved you, I couldn't do that to you, to us" she takes a deep breath
"But that's when his friendly attitude became aggressive, he said that if I didn't let him then he'd make sure that I stayed there for a very long time. I was scared Shawn" she starts tearing up
"Hey, it's fine" I hug her
"He started touching me, I tried to scream but he covered my mouth with his big and dirty hands"
"Did he rape you?" she shakes her head
"He never got to that point because someone would always interrupt us just in time" She sobs uncontrollably and I rub her back
"Hey, now it's over, you're here now, safe with me. He won't hurt you anymore, I promise" she hugs me tighter. Connor must've noticed her sadness because he jumps on the sofa and starts licking her arm
"Hi Connor" she sniffs and replaces me with the dog, now he's the one who is being hugged.
"Hey, you're gonna be clean for 90 days in 4 days"
"Yeah"
"That's awesome! We should celebrate! What do you wanna do?"
"I just wanna go back in New York"
"Baby, you know that we can't at the moment"
"I know, I can't leave the state because we'll have to attend the Oscars that exact same day and 'till that pig is gonna be in prison" she sighs
"I don't even see why I'm gonna attend them, my movie is not gonna win anything for sure and everyone is gonna ask me about recent events"
"Why so pessimistic? Your movie is awesome and I bet that nobody will ask you about it, sure, sometimes they can be assholes but I think that they will understand you and avoid those kind of questions" I kiss her head
"I'm really tired Shawn"
"I know baby, just hold on a little longer, okay?"
"I don't know if I can" She rests her body against mine, still hugging Connor
"Of course you can, I believe in you"
"Thank you Shawn"
"You're welcome" she closes her eyes and falls asleep. I can't see why everything has to happen to her when she doesn't deserve it at all.
