Chapter 98- Welcome To The World

Sabrina's POV

"Shawn? Can you come over here a second?" I call my husband, I'm currently reading the adoption papers but there's something wrong
"On my way!" not even a minute later he enters the room
"What's wrong?" I pat him to sit next to me on the bed
"Look" I point at the middle of a paragraph
"It says that we have to wait other three months here"
"What about it?" I frown, does he not remember?
"I clearly asked if we'd be able to receive her around this period and they said yes. This is the third time they postpone"
"I get it, we just need to have a little bit of patience, adopting a foreign child is way more difficult than regular adoption"
"Yeah but they did all the check-ins months ago. They even went in our home to see if everything was on the norme and said that we were like the perfect family for her! We showed them Sophia's own room!" he rubs my shoulders
"Hey, relax just a little, don't stress to much" he rubs my baby bump
"You're on your third semester, it's almost over. After Emma's birth you can stress all you want but until then just chill, okay?" he kisses my head. I'll never get used to his sweetness, he's so kind and compassionate,  I fall in love with him more each day that we spend together.
"I just can't take it anymore. I want Sophia to move in with us" I sigh
"And I want this kid to get out of me already! She's a week late!"
"She's just a little bit lazy, I'm sure she'll be here with us sooner than we expect"
"Well I expected her to be here a week ago" I reply sarcastically
"Very funny Sabrina, but seriously, just chill, there's nothing to worry about"
"Talk for yourself, I wanna go back to eat my daily chocolate doses" I close my eyes
"Talking about food, I need to go grocery shop, bye"
"Bye" I mumble
"I'll be back in no time" he gives me a quick kiss before leaving.
I hate being stuck here! I can't take it anymore! Stupid bed rest. I know that all of this is gonna be worth it when Emma's gonna be born but right now I don't think that I can bear this anymore, it's so boring! I can't stand, I can't do any physical actions! I can't play with my children, nor the dog. It's so frustrating. I can only watch tv, make work calls, write stuff or read it, like in this case, I better go back to read those adoption papers to see if everything is in order.
As I'm reading them I feel a sharp pain on my abdomen while the bed sheets get wet, that must be my water, I think it's time, I'm gonna deliver the baby! I take deep breaths as I call Shawn
"Hello?"
"Shawn?"
"Sabrina? You want me to buy you something?"
"No, I-" I have another contraction and inhale sharply
"Sab?"
"My water broke, i-it's time"
"What?!" I then hear a thud
"Is everything fine over there?"
"Yeah, I'll be there in no time! Just you wait!" And with that he hangs up on me.
Damn I forgot how painful contractions were! Please be back soon Shawn

Shawn's POV

"My water broke, i-it's time"
"What?!" I let the grocery bag fall in the ground
"Is everything fine over there?"
"Yeah, I'll be there in no time! Just you wait!" I hang up on her and start running towards the nearest exit to get into my car and start driving! I'm gonna be a father again! I can't wait! I start driving but immediately find myself stuck in traffic, god no! Please let me get home as soon as possible!

One hour! It took me one fucking hour to come back home instead of the usual ten minutes! I tried to call Sabrina but she wouldn't pick up. Why?! Why me?! Stupid traffic! I get off the car and run inside the house to find her on the ground, how did she get here?!
"Sab!" I pick her up bridal style
"Shawn" she says in a whisper, poor Sabrina, she has been clearly crying
"I tried to call you" I say as I bring her inside the car
"My phone battery died" she replies to me with a whisper
"What were you doing on the floor? Do you realize how dangerous that was?!"
"I was trying to call an ambulance with the house phone, you were taking too much time to come back..." I bite my lip
"I'm sorry. I got stuck in traffic for an hour, but I'm here now, and I won't leave you, I promise" I hear her groan
"Is everything okay?" she nods and replies to me
"Yeah, just another contraction" I glance at her and see that she's crying in pain
"This will be over soon, okay?"

Sabrina's POV

I'm in the emergency room now, they lie me down on a bed and spread my legs wide open
"Wait! I had a c-section last time!"
"They were twins of big size that were trying to get out at the same time. Your hips might not be that wide but they can surely let pass one medium baby" I nod in response at the doctor but I'm scared as fuck right now, this would be my first natural delivery. I don't wanna suffer like last time
"I know you can do it" Shawn holds my hand and I squeeze it tightly when I feel above contraction
"It hurts" tears are forming again
"It'll be worth it, think about holding Emma soon, okay?"
"You're right"
"Okay ma'am. I need you to push at the count of three, got it?"
"Yeah" I take a deep breath, it's time...

"I can see the head!" I can't do it anymore, I've been pushing for eight hours!
"I-I can't"
"Sabrina, one last big push and everything will be over" Shawn rests his forehead against my sweaty one
"Take a deep breath and give birth to her now. You can do it, I know it"
"One..." the nurse starts counting. I inhale
"Two..." It's time, I prepare myself
"Three" I start pushing. It hurts so much I bite my lip in an attempt to not cry.
"You've got it, just a little more" I squeeze Shawn's hand so hard that he cringes from the pain
"It hurts!" I'm sorry, what?! I glare at him after his whine and he looks immediately away. I keep pushing until I head crying, finally, I smile in relief and rest my head back on the pillow.
"You did it!" My husband holds our daughter after they clean her up and cut her umbilical cord
"Look at her! Isn't she beautiful?" He shows her to me
"Yes, she is" I start crying of happiness
"It's over Sabrina, you did an amazing job"
"Can I hold her?"
"Sure you can" Shawn gives her to me
"Oh my gosh look at how tiny she is!" I smile at her when she holds my index finger
"She has your hair"
"You think?"
"Yeah, see? That's dark blonde" I gently touch her head
"Yeah"
"Hi Emma, I'm your daddy" she opens her eyes and let me tell you, it's the cutest thing ever
"Woah! See that?! She also has your eyes! That's pure blue! It's like looking at the sky!" I chuckle and the baby smiles, incredible
"She might have my hair and eyes but she definitely has your quirky smile"
"We're parents...again" I giggle
"Awesome, right?" he smiles and kisses me. When we pull away I see that his lips are bright red, blood?
"Shawn? Are you bleeding?" He smiles and cleans his lips
"Your lips are the ones bleeding. You probably bit them too hard"
"It doesn't matter now, look at her"
