Chapter 55: Kates inner world

~Ichigo pov~

I opened my eyes to see myself in a field with dead flowers and dead grass, the sky was black and the moon was a blood red color with no stars or anything

I stood up and realized I was in Kate's inner world, I walked up to a ruined house that was in broken down and such while I saw a lake that was black and had voices coming from it

I walked closer to the lake to realize a man bent over with his hands by the shore looking like he was exhausted

I walked closer to the man and he looked like he was just on the brink of passing out or even worse dying

he had a white flannel shirt and black pants and long blonde hair

I was by him and when I was ready to talk he looked up at me smiling a bit

"Ichigo, your finally here-"

he said and I gave him a questioned look

"What do you mean Finally we never-"

I started then I heard a voice behind me

"I see you finally came Ichigo"

I looked behind me and saw zangetsu and gave a questioned look

"You've been here Zangetsu?"

i asked and the man started to groan in pain

"Hey sir who are you-"

I started and Zangetsu put his hand on my shoulder

"Ichigo, think, who would be in Kate's inner world?"

I heard him then looked at the man again, then I widened my eyes

"You're, Kate's Zampaktou Howul?"

I asked and he slowly stood up and nodded

"correct, and nice to see you again Zangetsu, but we have a bigger matter"

he said and I tensed up as he looked at the lake

"Kate is in there and, I can't go in there because I'm a zampaktou, which means I'll die instantly, so I've been using my reitsu to help Kate stay away from death, but she is still-"

"-still what?"

I asked and he looked at me

"-hurt inside, and more lonely then she ever was, and I can't help her and-"

"I'm going to go get her Howul, even if it takes my life"

I said as he lifted his head up when I said that

"Ichigo you can't bring your zampaktou so please, be careful-"

he said and I set my blade down walking over to the bank of the water

"I'm bringing her back Howul"

I breathed in and jumped in the black water, I was instantly sinking as I looked around, I couldn't find her yet but I swam around

it was so heavy in this lake and I felt as if I were being watched, I felt something watching me, I then felt something in my pocket and saw the necklace

I think I would have to put it on Kate then if that's the case

I saw something finally until i swam over to it and closer and closer I saw I could make out the figure

it was a woman's body and i realized

It was Kate, and she was being grabbed by the shoulders and legs, she was naked but her hair covered her breasts and she was curled up in a ball while holding something close to her chest
