CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

•Saturday night November 20th•

"This is going to be so boring" I snarled not wanting to go inside.  "Why can't we do something fun?"

Toni and Sweet Pea stood beside me and we started walking into The Bijou. It was the only movie theater in Riverdale. According to Jughead, there use to be a drive-in movie theater for people to go to, but it was shut down a few months ago.  I wish the drive-in was still open, because I have never been to a drive-in movie theater. They are so retro and I wish I was in Riverdale when the drive-in was still open.

"Quit complaining for one second. It's like a double date. You, Sweet Pea, me and Fangs"

"I hate the movies" Sweet Pea and I said simultaneously

"Plus you're not dating Fangs" Sweet Pea added

"And Sweet Pea and I aren't dating" I added also and Sweet pointed in my direction

When we got inside there were so many students from Riverdale High waiting in line for popcorn and candy in order to see the movie. The three of us were waiting for Fangs to show up, so that we could all go in to the movie together.  "You guys go ahead without me. I'll wait for Fangs" Toni said

Sweet Pea and I nodded and waited to get our food for the movie as Toni walked away. I looked over and saw that she was over by Cheryl Blossom. I turned back to Sweet Pea for half a second and then I whispered, "wanna get out of here?" before he paid for our food

He grinned and took my hand and pulled me out the door. Since Fangs obviously bailed on her, I guess going to watch the movie with Cheryl Bombshell was her only option. Fangs did not bother letting either of us know that he was not going to be coming to the movie. I actually do not blame him. Romantic comedy movies are not my thing. My favorite movie for crying out loud is The Hills Have Eyes. I think that sets the tone as to why I was not interested in seeing some teenage movie.

Sweet Pea and I went to Pops and sat in a booth across from each other. FP walked over to us in his all white uniform.

"Glad to see you kids out having fun. Rather than going on a crusade for some random reasons that I'll actually never understand. What can I get for you?"

"I'll take a burger and a chocolate shake" Sweet Pea said

"I'll just have a vanilla shake" I said

FP smiled and walked away from us.

Once FP came back he started talking to me as if the conversation we had at the Cooper residence never happened. I knew he was good at pretending everything was normal, but it happened to be a specialty. I did not bother to tell Sweet Pea any of it. I did not want to lie to him, but I did not want him involved in case things went bad. To be perfectly honest; I did not want my mother and I involved in this, but Alice Cooper roped us in.
