"I wanna be a part of your world" I whispered as I inched forward wrapping my fingers around the collar of his serpent jacket
Sweet Pea stood there not bothering to look me in the eyes. "You can't Madi. I need you to be safe and I don't want to tak...

CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN
On the eve of the Mayoral Debate, as Archie Andrews and Madison Montgomery go door-to-door, they do not mention the murder of their classmate, Midge Klump. Most people believed Midge was murdered by someone else but not Archie and Madison. They were certain, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the Black Hood was back, as was their next-door neighbor, Betty Cooper. Who had, in fact, laid eyes on the Black Hood and suspected he was much closer.

•Thursday April 7th•
I had been spending the last few days consoling Betty and trying to find ways to exonerate the theory that her father is the Black Hood. As the two of us were spending a lot of time together I realized that I had not seen Toni, Fangs, or Sweet Pea in the last few days. I wanted to see the serpents really badly. Luckily they were all in the lounge.
I ran inside and practically pounced onto Sweet Pea's lap and aggressively kissed him. "What was the sneak attack for?" he asked smiling at me as I kept our faces close together
"What? Can't I just show up at school and kiss you with no ulterior motive in mind?" I rhetorically asked him, but of course, knowing Sweet Pea he had an answer
"Not usually, but since you had to explain yourself I think there is an ulterior motive in mind"
"I just miss you guys. It's been a few days and, honestly, there is less Southside drama than Northside drama"
"With the Black Hood back in town, people are going to start assuming it's a Southsider again. We gotta be prepared for the backlash" Fangs explained handing us today's newspaper written by someone who was not Alice Cooper this time. Ever since Hiram Lodge bought the Riverdale Register she wanted nothing to do with the newspaper anymore. In my opinion, I think she quit after her no good husband sold it to Hiram Lodge. "Word on the street is their is a new sheriff in town"
"Hopefully one with actual detective skills this time" I whispered and even though Kevin was not here I still felt the need to say, "no offense to Kevin"
Sweet Pea just scoffed as if our conversation meant nothing. "Andrews is apparently reforming his Dark Circle to find the Black Hood. So, I plan on just sitting back and enjoying those mutts throwing themselves into the line of fire"
I gently slapped Sweet Pea on the back of his head. The serpents would sometimes forget that while I am on their side, the northsiders were still my friends also. I was the impartial woman towards the North and Southside. Plus, the serpents have been going to school with us now for about six months and the feud between them had died down, but the tension was still there.
Suddenly the four of us all got text messages from Jughead. He called for an immediate meeting in the Swords and Serpents classroom. We all got our things together and started walking to our usual classroom.
