Chapter Sixty Seven: Matrimony Pt. One
Daisy
***

For as long as I can remember, I've always been in love with the idea of being in love.

I sat in the chair as My sister did my hair, My mother and Blithe in the room with me.

"I remember Dad would tuck me in at night and tell me: 'One day, a young man will come to you...but he will not be just any boy...This boy will be your mate, a young man made specifically by the fates themselves, he will be your other half and once together he will complete you in every way...you'll get married and walk through life together as one, and you will know no happiness like the happiness you experience with your mate.' I remember being so excited and wanting to find my mate as quick as possible." I said as I recalled the memory.

"And You've found that in Cade." My mother said happily.

I smiled and nodded, "I have, and with him as my chosen Mate we have all of that and so much more...It's still so surreal that it's finally my wedding day." I said getting a litle teary eyed.

"Ooooh Daisy." Blithe sounded softly, "Please don't cry or I'll cry with you." She chuckled lightly as she handed me a tissue to dab the tears away from my inner eyes.

"I can't even begin to tell you how beyond happy I am." I admitted.

"And I'm done back here." Anise sounded as she spritzed my hair just a little with some hair spray."

"Time for the dress." My Mom said before the two of us Made our way into a connected room of the bridal suite.

As she unzipped the heavy garment bag I took in a deep breath as I saw my dress for the first time in more than a few months.

But upon seeing it I was thrilled to see it was the same one I had picked out with my mom two weeks after Cade proposed. I mean sure we had talked about waiting a year...but I absouletely couldn't wait to get the dress, and I'd kept it at my parents house to avoid him feeling rushed in any way.

"I was nervous they wouldn't have the alterartions done in time since we got it a size bigger." She admitted.

I nodded. "Me too...lets just hope it fits now." I sounded nervously since I had my measurements taken a couple of weeks ago, My mom hadn't brought the dress with her so they had to go using my measurements only.

I took my time stepping into the long mermaid style dress.

On the mannequin it was form fitting and accentuated the curves. I removed my robe and stood in my bridal lingerie as my mother carefully pulled the dress up, when she got to the hips panic set in.

I was tense as the rest of the dress come up over my body, I put my arms in as carefully as I could so as not to snag the long delicate lace sleeves in any way.

But the true test was still to come, as my mother (who was still behind me) began to zip the dress up.

My wolf stilled with worry and I held my breath as we both thought the same thing.

'Please Zip.'

I let out a huge sigh of relief when my mom got the zipper all the way to the top and then moved the faux buttons to cover the zipper panel.

Last she secured the veil atop my low styled chignon.

"Perfect..." My mother said as she hugged me and then moved out of the room to give me just a moment, I knew she'd be helping Cora get into her dress now as Anise would have been done with her hair by now.

I smiled, Cade and I hadn't told our family we were going to adopt just yet, just incase things didn't work out...but I loved knowing my mother had gotten to know them during her stay here.

I looked at me reflection and a wave of elation hit me.

"We're getting married." I whispered.

'We're ready.'

I nodded, "We are."

I finally left the room. Anise, Blithe, and Cora were all giddy upon seeing me and I couldn't help but smile along with them.

My mother handed us our flowers and we left the bridal suite to meet my father downstairs.

I watched as he tried to keep his composure and not cry...but I noticed his eyes get a bit glassier in appearance.

"It's finally time." He sounded as the rest of my bridal party got into the car to ride over to the pack house.

"I just wanted to say thank you..." I said to him, "I didn't understand when I was younger...I was even upset with you at times for not letting me just get married and start a life, I may have missed my chance at true love and genuine happiness."

"Your mother and I have ONLY ever wanted your happiness Daisy." He sighed, and then smiled before he kissed my forehead, "Now we should get going before Alpha Irons starts stressing out about his Mate being late."

"You okay man?" Theo asked.

I nodded my head and Wren kindly brought me a glass of water.

"You're stressing yourself out." Ieston put in cooly with a knowing smile. "C'mon man, we all know there is nothing in the world that would stop Daisy from coming."

I nodded. Even though I could feel her excitment (so there was no underlying fear or sadness) I knew she wasn't second guessing herself, we were locked away in the library in the back of the house, awaiting confirmation of my mates arrival.

Once I knew she was here everything would start and I'd calm down.

"She's going to feel your nerves though and you know she'll start freaking herself out." Ieston added.

I knew he was right, I closed my eyes and tried to think about anything else, but all I could think about was her.

Her lovely face filled my every though and put me at ease

I was so calm in fact that when someone knocked on the door my heart began to race as I flinched at the unexpected sound.

"Alpha Irons...Miss Brooks and her bridal party have just arrived." One of my pack members sounded.

I smirked and relaxed.

And as if she were giving me one of her lovely warm hugs I felt her presence completely.

"Beta Brooks suggested you should start making your way out back.

"It's time gentlmen." I said before thanking my pack member and watching as my best friends exited the room followed by Wren.

As if I had called him, Wren turned around and smiled, he gave me a thumbs up and then followed Theo and Ieston to meet up with Daisy's bridal party.

I smirked and walked out.

I heard as the music started but that was to cue everyone to take their seats.

Blithe saw me and started tearing up.

"Stop it." I said as I smiled and hugged her.

She looked at me once again before she joined her husband's side.

Cora gave me a shy little wave as she held onto Wren's hand. I smiled and waved back at her. But once the back doors opened to the garden that was expertly decorated.

I exited the pack house first and walked forward as all eyes were on me now.
