14 | The Lecturer

The only thing that was filling up the background was the soft music playing from the radio. Jae started at the person who was siting in the driver's seat as her brain took its time to process the identity.

"W-why are you here, Mr. Kim?"

The person raised his eyebrow.

"What's with the formalities? You are not going to call me honey like you used to?"

Jae's face flushed with embarrassment and she turned her head away.

"That is when we dated, Seokjin. You are still my lecturer."

"Was. Now that you mention it, you used to tell me to keep it a secret that we were dating back then?"

"I didn't! I told you to wait for me until I graduated. Don't twist my words!"

The other bursted out laughing and Jae couldn't help but continue to feel super embarrassed.

"That's right but we can't forget the fact that we dated because you wanted me to teach you the art of dating."

"Gosh! Please stop bringing up the past. It's already buried deep down the ground," Jae covered her face with her hands. She just wanted to get out of the car but it was raining outside and this was business she needed to handle.

She planned to give him the silent treatment but she knew the other wouldn't give up so easily. Letting out a sigh, she ignored the rest of the things Seokjin was saying and went down to business.

"So, what type of painting did you want to buy?"

"That was mean of you to cut me off but I guess I just wanted to see how my lazy student has progressed so far."

Jae felt offended and gave Seokjin a dirty look.

"I was still your top student!"

Seokjin laughed his heart out and reached his hand out to ruffle her hair.

"Sure, Ms. Yang."

Jae couldn't help but break out laughing. All the memories she spent with him came back and there wasn't a single memory that broke her heart into pieces.

"You are finally laughing," Seokjin smiled, "That took me a while."

Seokjin had always been the type who would try his best to make her smile.

"You are just horrible at making people feel better," Jae stuck her tongue out but still had a smile on.

Music filled up the place again as the journey continued. They didn't really need to converse to feel comfortable so they just let the silence take over. Seokjin soon pulled over and Jae guessed that they had arrived at the place. She took her seatbelt off and was about to get off but noticed that Seokjin was taking any action.

"Aren't we getting off?"

Seokjin turned and nodded.

"We are but we still need to talk."

"What is it?"

"Do you have anything you want to tell me?"

"I don't think so. Do I?"

"I heard from Namjoon that you are trying to find out something about the party."

Jae's eyes widened and all the thoughts just came rushing back into her brain. The party, the boy and the kiss. She bit her bottom lip as she didn't know how to phrase it. She knew Namjoon backed off for her to find out if Seokjin was the one or not. She wasn't really sure if she should do it.

"Why were you at the party?"

"Oh it was the one your ex hosted, right? You can say that we were having this ex lovers gathering."

"What?!"

"Okay, I was just joking. You know Taehyung was also one of my student so obviously I had to go."

Jae hummed and didn't know what else to say. How could she ask her ex-slash-lecturer to kiss her? She wished Hyemi was with her in this type of situation.

When Jae was about to say something, she saw Seokjin leaning towards her. Her breath was taken away by the sudden closeness and the visuals of the other. She gripped tightly onto her seatbelt as he got closer and gently kissed her like she was the most precious person he had ever found.
