Planting Gardens

Planting a garden is to believe in tomorrow,
For each seed you planted you kissed away my sorrow,
You told me things that eased my fears and taught me things I didn't know,
You've got a certain flow
One I admire,
You're the girl on fire,
Keep on lifting me higher,
You're a flyer
Keep on building up your empire.

I'm living for tomorrow for more than to cut,
I look forward to your what's up,
I no longer look at my cup
Like it's half empty or half full,
Life just isn't so dull,
I've come to understand that I'm capable and that cup is capable of being refilled.

You've got me planting Gardens,
With roses and daisy's and
Other types of pretty things that remind me of you,
And all the things you say and do,
All the things you've helped me through,
Helped me be clean when all I wanted to do was relapse again,
I'm just a teen,
But you keep reminding me that there's more to me,
And so much left to see,
So instead of cutting I am staying clean,
Instead of sowing wounds I am sowing seed,
Just planting gardens.
