Lilac Sky

I was a lilac sky,
But full of greying clouds,
You told me to open up,
and let the rain come down.

Hesitant at first, I sprinkled just a bit,
You held my hand along the way,
The sun in my sky you lit.

Then you thundered, lightning down,
Seeking, crashing and destroying,
In silent pain I watched the world drown,

And from the lilac blossomed black,
I closed my sky, swollen clouds,
and retreated back without a sound.
