Michael: There was a knock at the door. I turn and look and Michael but he just shrugs. I stand up, pausing survivor as I go to answer it. “Happy birthday to you this very special day, some one sent me here with a message for me to say!” A man dressed in a gorilla suit holding a hand full of balloons dances outside my front door. I laugh and turn back to look at Micheal who was standing right behind me now. “I love you so much, and I just wanted you to know. No matter what happens from now until we’re old. I will love you with each breath, so help me God. I’m sorry that my gift to you is really rather odd.” The gorilla stops singing and I am laughing uncontrollably as Michael holds me, kissing the back of my head. The dancing gorilla hands me the balloons and says happy birthday once more before leaving. “You are amazing.” I say turning around to face him kicking the door shut. “I meant everything that gorilla sung.” He laughs against my mouth. “Wait, you wrote that?” I smile at him. “Of course I did? How else could it have been that cheesy. There was another knock on the door, and I raise my eye brows at him. He says nothing, letting me go to answer the door. There was a woman dressed like fairy with a large bouquet of flowers. “Happy birthday my dear sweet one, I bet you thought it was done. Fooled you though so here you go, a flower for every moment you made me smile, get comfortable we’ll be here for a while.” In walks a parade of men carrying bouquet after bouquet of flowers. I turn back to Michale but he’s gone. The first girl walks in and hands me her flowers, she turns and leaves and shuts the door. On the card it says play me. I grab the tape recorder off the stems and click play. “Sorry for all my crappy rhyming, it just seemed like perfect timing. Today is a day to celebrate you, which, if you hadn’t guessed is my favorite thing to do.” I smile looking around for Michael but he is no where to be scene. His voice continues to play out from the recorder. “Take it all in and have a good laugh, for this next part here I hope you know math. If one day is too little and one day not enough, then logically forever will never be rough.” The tape recorder clicks off and there is another knock on the door. I run over to answer it. Michael stands before me in a nicely pressed tux. Tears spill out my eyes, and I cup my mouth with my hands blocking the gurgling sound I make when I cry. “I love you more than anything on earth, and I just wanted you to know, that no matter where our lives take us, I want to be beside you every step of the way.” He gets down on one knee and my heart shoots right out my body. Before he can even ask, before he even pulls out the ring I scream “YES!” I leap into his arms and kiss him. I want to spend the rest of my life with this crazy, crazy man.

Calum: “You know how I hate when you’re here alone when I’m on tour?” Calum asks stroking my hair as we cuddle on the sofa. “Yes.” He shifts. “Well, I got you something for that.” I prop myself up on his chest at smile down at him. “You got me an alarm system for the house? How sweet! Best birthday gift ever!” I lean down and rub my nose against him, kissing him sweetly. “Not quite. We have to go pick it up.” I am intrigued now. “Okay.” I sit up leaning over to turn the tv off. “I have to drive and you have to wear this.” He says, pulling out a night mask. “Very top secret of you.” I tease taking the mask from him. “You can put it on when we’re in the car.” I run to the door and throw my shoes on. Calum grabs the keys and his jacket and we head out to the car. “Is it a fancy computer thing a ma jig for the house that makes it so that it’s like you’re here even when you aren’t?” I guess as he shuts the car door. “No, plus that’s what skype is for.” I pout putting on the eye mask. “Did you get me a body guard? Because you know how I feel about body guards.” I warn him. “Will you just stop guessing! You’re gonna ruin it!” He turns up the volume on the radio so he can’t hear me talk anymore. I just laugh and decide to just enjoy the surprise. After about twenty minutes the car stops. “Are we here?” I ask as he cuts the music. He sighs. “Yes love, we are here.” He unbuckles himself and jumps out of the car. My car door opens and he leans in and unbuckles me, taking my hand and helping me out of the car. “Is it a private plane so I can see you when ever I want? Think of all the benefits to that.” Calum doesn’t even dignify that question with an answer. I hear a door being opened and we step inside a building that smells oddly like shampoo. “Good afternoon Mr. Hood, just back here.” I am being led down a hallway. “You did get me a body guard. I told you how I feel about another man watching me do everything!” I whine. “You are impossible you know that.” He says and I can hear him shake his head. Another door opens, and we step inside. As the door clicks behind us you can hear barking. Calum gently slips the mask off my face and I realize we are at a shelter. I turn to him and I can’t believe it. He always said we were too busy for a dog. “Which ever one you like.” He says. I kiss him hard and passionately. He puts up with so much from me.
