Toni's POV
5 years ago today
On the platform of the bus station, the most perfect girl in front of me. One I've been seeing for 3 years now
"Say it TT," she says
My eyes go wide and my hands cold.
I've never felt love before, I never thought I would.
"It's hard for me, to say it," I say "I was told I could never feel love,"
"3 words, 8 letters, 3 syllables," she says "I'll wait for them, find who you are Topaz, figure it out. I'll wait for you,"
She connects our foreheads and slowly kisses me.
"This is my train," I say "I'll be back,"
I take my necklace off and put it in her hand.
"You better be Topaz,"
"I promise Blossom,"
I kiss her one last time, get on the train and never look back.
PRESENT DAY
I stand on the doorstep of the girl I left on the platform 5 years ago to the day.
The pink in my hair is faded and gone, my brown eyes have turned a little aged and worried in the many years it's been since I stepped in this town, I've thought about this here moment. Her tulips in the garden replaced by red and white roses- white were my favourite, red hers.
Scared I hold the note she wrote me a year ago saying she wanted to see me, and make sure I was ok.
I knock on the door and a light turns on upstairs.
She opens the door and gasps.
Her red hair the same length, her face has barely aged a day.
"Toni," she says "You're ok!"
"I came back,"
"And?"
"I love you, Cheryl Blossom," I say "even if you don't love me anymore it's fine, but I love you,"
"I still love you," she says
I pull her in and kiss her.
How long it has been.
How awful I have felt.
How we have gotten through all barriers.
How we made it.
I love her
And that's final.
