Toni's POV
Its three months into the school year and Cher still hasn't come out.
I'm alright it's fun, we talk at school and then go to her house and I actually get to touch her butt.
She really doesn't like that I say that every time we get to her house.
"Meet me for lunch today please?" Cher asks stopping at my locker quickly
"Sure Cher,"
I go through until lunch and then meet up with her at her locker.
"I'm ready," she says
"Am I taking you somewhere?" I ask
She shakes her head and smiles
"I'm ready to come out, I want to eat lunch with you and I want to come out," she says "I'm ready,"
I smile and hold my hand out
She takes it and we go to the lounge.
"Hey Cheryl hey Toni," Veronica says
"Hey," Cher says
"'Sup" I nod
I sit down and Cher sits on my lap.
"What's going on with you two?" Ronnie asks
"We're dating," Cher says cuddling into me
"Power couple?!" Kevin squeals
"How long has this been happening?" Ronnie asks
"9 months?" I say
"10," cher says
"Right,"
They ask more questions and then we just have lunch and hang out.
"I love you Princess,"
"I love you too Tones," she says "walk me to class?"
"Of course," I laugh grabbing her hand
"Topaz are we studying at spare?" Veronica asks
"Sure, I'll meet you back here,"
"Awesome,"
I walk Cher to her class
"I'll meet you at your car after school?" I ask
"Yes Of course, tonight we should go out,"
"Sounds good babygirl," I say
She kisses me and I smile against her lips
"I'll see you later," I say
"Bye babe,"
I walk down the hall when someone stops me.
"Looking hot today Topaz," Reggie says backing me into a locker
"Thanks, my girlfriend did my makeup this morning,"
"I heard Blossom's a dyke now," he says "congrats she's a good bang so I've heard,"
"I don't know who told you that," I say "leave me alone,"
"C'mon Topaz, give me a night- we'd be the power couple of this sorry town,"

I push through and go back to the lounge to study with Veronica.
"I'll be right back," she says after a while
I nod and keep looking at my books.
A boy sits down beside me and I don't bat an eye.
"Hey baby you single?"

"Ya," I say out of habit
"I heard you were into girls- are you also into boys?"
"I was into one girl, but I don't like her anymore," I mumble
These are my talking points
"So you're into me?"
"Not a chance,"
"But now that you dumped the whore- you can have some real fun,"
He puts his hand on my thigh and I bat it off
"Get off of me you pervert,"
"But you said you were single,"
"I AM SINGLE OKAY?" I snap "Leave me alone,"
"So who were you with before?"
"You wouldn't know her, she's out of your league- as am I,"
"Was she a bitch or something?"
"Nope, out of my league too,"
"Was it Blossom?"
"It was not- she's straight,"
I continue to study as he asks these absurd questions
"For the last time- I don't like Blossom she's a bitch and I'd never date her so drop it asshole," I yell
I see red hair at the door and look over
Shit What was I just saying.
"Good to know Toni," she says "Sweetpea was right you were just in it for the long con,"
She runs away and I pack up all my books and run after her.
"Cher," I say seeing her hugging Veronica
"Topaz back up," Ronnie hisses
"Please let me explain,"
She shrugs
"It was force of habit, I forgot about lunch I was trying to figure out bio and.." I sigh "for the last three months I've been saying that and it was habit,"
"Oh that's a better explanation than I was expecting,"
Cher looks at me and she's crying.
"Baby please. You know I love you. You know me Cher,"
She nods and I hug her
"Baby I love you, I love you," I say "I promise you,"
"I'm sorry," she whispers
"It's alright, we're alright," I say rubbing her back "it's been a really really long day right?"
She nods and I kiss her temple
"I meant to tell you I'm so so proud of what you did today. It's not easy but you did it," I whisper "you did it baby,"
She kisses me and I smile against her lips and wipe her tears.
"Milkshakes? My treat," I say
"Ya, I like that idea,"

We drive to Pops and we sit on the same side of the booth
"You look so hot today," I say wrapping my arm around her waist and grabbing her ass
"You're funny," she says looking at the table and softly smiling
"Baby, what's wrong?"
"How did you come out?" She asks
"I just kinda always was out. Everyone kinda just assumed and I went with whatever I wanted to do,"
"Oh," she says
"Why do you ask baby?"
She shrugs
"Was I too weird about it? Am I supposed to do more or was it too big- too much at once?"
"Woah woah woah," I say "coming out is something you do on your own terms- how ever you want to do it,,"
"Did you like it?"
"As long as you feel safe, feel comfortable, and were ready- I loved it,"
She nods and starts crying.
"Princess don't cry please, what's wrong?" I say hugging her
"I finally did it," she whispers "but I'm scared,"
"You did do it baby, you did it and I am so so proud of you. I love you, always will,"
"Why?"
"Why What Cher?"
"Why would you date me? I realized today that I'm just a regular girl. Am I like 10x hotter than all the cheerleaders- ya but they look like cows. I'm a bitch, I'm stupid, I'm crying over nothing right now. I'm always a mess. And you could have anyone,"
"I love you because you're the best person I've ever met. Period. I love everything you do, I love your hair, I love your walk. I love that you always try and smile even when your upset- which you shouldn't do, but it's cute," I say "I love you for who you are babygirl. I love when we're studying and I try and distract you and you just smirk and finish the equation, I can keep going. And I will until you stop crying,"
"It's okay babe," she says with a smile "I love you,"
"I love you too,"
We leave and she walks like we usually did before people knew about us.
"Baby you need to come closer to me," I tease pulling her by her hand towards me
"Why? I thought you liked personal space Topaz,"
"I do, but I love grabbing your ass more," I say putting my hand on her butt
"Just because people know I'm a lesbian- doesn't mean you can grope me now,"
"But it can mean that,"
She rolls her eyes and kisses my cheek
