Toni's POV
I'm in the middle of sweetwater riverbank. Thinking about my amazing night with my beautiful new girlfriend. We've been "dating" for months but I finally found the balls to ask her to be my girlfriend. She's absolutely perfect- and she's right there?
"Cheryl?" I ask "what are you doing babe?"
"Sitting and thinking," she sighs "you?"
"Walking and thinking," I laugh "May I sit?"
"Of course T,"
I sit beside her and she puts her head on my shoulder.
"What are you thinking about?" She asks
"How lucky I am to have such an amazing girlfriend," I say kissing the top of her head
She scoffs and laughs.
"Slick Topaz,"
"Mhm," I laugh "what about you?"
"Mine doesn't sound as sane as that so,"
"Cmon, you can trust me, I won't judge,"
"It sounds crazy," she warns
"Everything you say sounds crazy," I laugh
"I'm saying goodbye,"
Suddenly I realize- this is the part of the river that Jason was found in.
"You miss him a lot, don't you?" I ask
"I did, but I think I missed just being treated like a human more," she sighs "he talked to me and hugged me and actually cared, but I think I don't need to hold on to that anymore,"
"Oh?"
"Ya, you make me feel safe," she says
"Good, because that's what I want to do," I whisper "everyday,"
She moves closer to me and cuddles right into my side
"Am I ok?" She asks
"Ya you're ok Cher,"
We sit there watching the water for a while before it starts to rain. I go to stand up and Cheryl pulls me back down.
"Please stay with me," she says
"Of course," I say
We sit there until she sneezes.
"Cmon babe, lets get you back home I don't want you to get sick,"
"I can't go back home," she whispers
"Hm?" I ask "why not?"
"My mother saw us at Pops and she kicked me out last week,"
"Where have you been living?" I ask
"Here and there, sleeping over at V's but her parents hate me, my Aunt won't let me stay there anymore since she thinks I was kicked out for doing drugs, I have no where tonight so I was going to stay here,"
"In the mud,"
"I didn't know it was going to rain," she says "plus I ran out of friends so it doesn't matter,"
"I'm your friend,"
"You're my girlfriend and I think homeless and living in mud is too much for the first date,"
"I have an idea, c'mon,"
I get up and offer my hand to her. She takes it and we walk back to the trailer park
"Pea and I stay together usually, it's less lonely that way but I have a trailer in my name where I go when he wants to have sex or has some non-serpent friends over. I'd have to stay with you sometimes but you can stay here, as long as you need,"
"Really?" She asks
"Of course C, I don't want you in danger or getting sick,"
She kisses my cheek
"Thank you, and if you ever want me out- I'll leave,"
"Seriously Cher, it's fine," I laugh "and it's not Thornhill- by any means,"
I open the door and walk in.
"I didn't really clean it either," I sigh- embarrassed looking at the clothes and scattered dishes "cleaning isn't really my thing,"
"I know it's not," she says "but it's mine,"
"You do whatever you want babe," I say
I set her up with pyjamas and show her where everything is.
"I'll come over in the morning? Maybe we can go get breakfast?"
"Sounds amazing," she says
I go to get the door.
"Wait, T?" She asks
"Ya?" I ask
She kisses me. Holy fuck she's a good kisser. My hands go to her waist and I kiss her back.
"Thank you for everything," she says pulling away
"It's no problem Cher," I smile "don't answer the door, call me if you're scared ok? I'll have my phone on,"
"Good," She says
I peck her lips again and she smiles
"Goodnight T,"
"Goodnight Cher,"
I walk across the road to Sweetpeas trailer.
"Hey man," I say sitting beside him on the couch
"Why are you so happy?" He asks handing me a beer from the mini fridge
"I asked Cher to be my girlfriend and finally had my first kiss,"
"Growing up kid," he teases
"Ya I guess," I laugh "shes staying in my trailer by the way, she got kicked out,"
"Oh my god, what happened?"
"Homophobic mother saw us on a date,"
"So the same thing that happened to you?"
"Ya pretty much, but she doesn't know that,"
I get a call from Cheryl.
"Babe? Are you ok?" I ask
"There's someone at the door and I didn't want to open it but they won't go away," she says
"Oh ok babe, I'll be right over,"
"Thank you,"
I grab my blade, finish my beer and go outside.
"Hey who the hell are you?" I ask to the person at the doorstep
"That's not a way to greet an old lover,"
"Peaches?" I ask
"Hey TT," She says
"We weren't lovers, we dated for 3 weeks," I say
"But I made mistakes and want you back,"
"We were thirteen Peaches," I sigh "I didn't love you, and I definitely don't know, I'm sorry,"
"There's no one else that would like you Toni, not in this dumb town, you're southside scum,"
"Not much better yourself Peach, but I have a girlfriend,"
"I'm sure a whore from that shutdown school,"
"Want to meet her?" I ask
"I would love to laugh at her,"
I open the door to the trailer.
"Babe?" I ask
"Hey Tones Who was at the door?" She asks coming out
I reach for her hand and she grabs mine and kisses my cheek
"Peaches, I'm sure you remember Cheryl Blossom. Cher, this is my ex girlfriend Peaches 'N Cream,"
Cheryl looks at me confused out of her mind.
"How would she remember me?" She whispers
"She used to live in this town Cher, everyone knows you,"
She understands and turns back to Peaches.
"Nice to meet you," she says kinda smugly
"A blossom in the southside, dating a Topaz? Life went downhill after I left this hell of a town," Peaches says shaking Cheryl's hand
"Can't be too bad, I stole your girlfriend,"
Woah Cheryl got her back up fast.
"She's a square anyways, don't expect to kiss her for the first 3 months of your relationship,"
"Weird we've been officially dating for 6 hours and we've already kissed," Cheryl laughs
"You've changed Topaz," she says to me
"I'm happier now Peach, I'm out and I'm proud,"
"You're an idiot and naive," she says "you think this Ginger Barbie is going to stay with you? You're a southsider, all she's doing is using you because you're medially hot and an easy target,"
"Don't call me a ginger, I'm a red head and there's a difference," Cher says getting angry "and trust me, I'm not using Toni. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me,"
"You've been dating for less than a day,"
"We've been girlfriends for less than a day," Cher corrects "we've been on 21 official dates, gone out for lunch almost everyday, and studied after school over the last 3 months so... I don't know sweetheart I think I have a pretty good handle on the situation,"
"You're a northside pig,"
"And you're no longer welcome on my property," I snap "get lost peaches,"
"Fine don't come crying to me," she says
"She won't need to," Cheryl assures "Bye bye,"
Peaches scoffs and walks away. I close the door and laugh.
"What? I get protective," she says
"No no babe, it was cute,"
"Mhm?"
"Mhm,"
I kiss her.
"You taste like cheap beer," she says
"Cheap? Oh Pea will be offended," I laugh
"We're you busy? I didn't want to bother you but she wouldn't go away,"
"No I'd much rather drink with you," I say "do you like beer? It's all I have,"
I grab one for me in the fridge.
"Uh ya sure, I'll have one," she says
I throw her one and grab one myself.
"Wanna go cuddle?" I ask
She nods and laughs.
We go to the bedroom and I text Pea to tell him I'm ok. And lay down. We talk and finish our beers.
"I'll see you in the morning," I say getting up
"Stay with me?" She asks "just for tonight,"
"Sure baby," I say kissing her head
"Thank you,"
She kisses me and cuddles into me
