Cheryl's POV
I was sitting at the back of the assembly, pretty much alone. It's a boring assembly too, just a yoga instructor talking about inner peace and love.
"Hey baby,"
Speaking of love..
"Hey TT," I whisper
She sits behind me and kisses the back of my head
"Can I lay back on you?" I ask
"Of course babygirl," she says
I lean back on her and she kisses my temple.
Towards the end of the assembly, T moves to stand up.
"Babe where are you going?" I whine
"C, people are going to see us if they put the lights back on,"
"Come nap with me at home?"
"Sure, I'll pick up food and meet you in 45?"
"Sounds good,"
She looks around quickly and pecks my cheek
"I love you C,"
"I love you too Tones,"
She leaves and I sigh.
She's such a good girlfriend
We got together over 5 months ago, and still haven't told anyone
5 whole months and she's been nothing but supportive. I tell her I'm warming up to telling Veronica and she turns around and says to go at my own speed, and that she'll help me.
Girls and guys throw themselves at her all the time but she always comes home. Her uncle kicked her out a month ago so she crashes in a spare room.
I walk home and inside. Might as well put a movie and grab chocolate for us. I hear Toni walk in and I lay down on the couch.
"Babe?" She calls
"I'm in here Toni," I laugh back
She walks in and looks awful distraught.
"Babe, What's wrong?" I ask concerned
"I'm so so sorry," she says
"What happened T, I'm sure it's not bad,"
"Someone saw us and took a picture of me kissing your cheek at the assembly,"
"So everyone knows?" She asks
"I'm so sorry baby, I didn't mean to,"
Holy fuck
"You know what it's fine,"
"What?"
"I wanted to come out anyways," I sigh "maybe not this way but I was ready, and I can still be ready,"
"Are you sure?"
"I'm absolutely sure," I say "plus, it's no fair to you being in a secret relationship,"
"Babe, don't think about me,"
"I'm good," I say "I promise,"
"In that case, you wanna go on a proper date with me?" She asks
"You wanna give me 1/2 an hour to get ready?"
"Of course C,"
I peck her lips and she smiles
"I love you," I say
"I love you too babe,"
In all honesty, I'm not 100% Fine with it, but we live with it and I'll be ok.
I get changed and do my hair and go downstairs to see Toni playing video games. I kiss her cheek sit beside her
"Later lads," she laughs "I gotta date,"
Someone says something back
"Shut the hell up sweets," "babe you can finish,"
"You're more important," she says standing up
"Is That right?"
"Mhm,"
I pull her into a long kiss and she smiles
"Let's go babe," I say
"If you ever feel uncomfortable or scared tell me,"
"I will TT,"
We walk hand in hand to Pops and take a booth.
"Babe come sit on this side," Toni says
I giggle and walk over and she pulls me by the hips on to her lap.
I kiss her cheek and she smiles
"Why are you so smiley?"
"Because I'm so proud of you babes, this is a big step,"
Veronica walks in and she looks pissed. She looks right at me and Toni and storms over.
"Am I gunna be in trouble?" Toni jokes
"Nope probably me," I laugh
She finally makes it here and turns to face us
"Toni I have to talk to Cheryl- alone,"
"No she can stay,"
"No no baby, it's ok," Toni says "I have to go to the bathroom anyways,"
She plants a long kiss on my cheek and a few down my neck.
"Topaz?" I say as she stands up "missing something?"
She pecks my lips and I smile
"I love you C, remember what I said?"
"Of course T, I love you too,"
She pulls me in for another kiss and leaves
"Alright im less pissed now- that was the cutest shit I've ever seen," Veronica says sitting down
I laugh and nod
"Toni is amazing,"
"Cheryl she's a serpent,"
"She is," I sigh "and I'm not a fan but we talk about it all the time and she's in for good reasons and I'm not asking her to leave. I told her I don't feel comfortable around drugs and that I didn't want her going to jail and she said she doesn't do anything that would make her go to jail,"
"How long have you two been together?"
"Just over 5 months," I say
"5 months?!" She says "I'm offended,"
"I wasn't ready to come out," I sigh "I still wasn't,"
"Do you know who did this?"
"Toni said she'd deal with it,"
"You know Sweetpea told me that Toni is homeless, right?"
"She was until she moved in with me," I say "she was homeless because she was bisexual- did you know that?"
"No I didn't "
T comes and sits back down beside me.
"Hey babygirl," She says "what's up,"
"V is worried," I laugh
"About?"
"The fact that somehow and for some reason a serpent is dating Cheryl Blossom," v says "it's weird that you would even talk to her or that she would talk to you after what the serpents did. I'm scared you have something over her,"
"Veronica stop it," I snap
"No Cher," Toni says grabbing my hand "that's a completely reasonable thing to say, she knows nothing about me babe,"
Veronica looks impressed with that.
"What do you want to know?"
"Where did you know you liked Cheryl?"
"At the bijou when Fangs ditched me," she says "she was alone so I asked her to sit with me and she gave me a little smile and I knew I liked her,"
"What's your family like?"
"Don't have one," Toni sighs "not that I associate with anyways,"
"What about the serpents?"
"I'm a serpent by blood, I'm always gunna be with them, but I told Cheryl if I'm getting pulled into dumb shit, I'm leaving,"
"You would leave for her?" She asks
"I would leave the minute she asks
"Really?" V asks
"100%,"
She grabs her phone and dials FP.
"Hey FP?"
"Ya ya, I need a 3 day temporary leave, pending more time," she sighs
He replies and she nods
"I wanna spend more time with Cher, it might be a rough couple days,"
He replies
"Thanks FP, talk to you later,"
She hangs up and looks at Veronica
"Three days, no serpents, no calls. I get to focus on cheryl and what just happened," she says
"Babe you can't do that," I say "you were talking earlier and you have to do something,"
"Well babe, I do," she sighs "I just need to give FP one thing, I'll be super quick,"
"I'll sit here with V," I say "no speeding,"
"Yes speeding, I wanna get back,"
"No speeding I don't want you to die,"
"Fine, I love you,"
"I love you too TT," I smile
"Good, see ya cutie," she winks
She pecks my lips and leaves
"You Happy now?" I ask
"Very actually," she says "tell me more about this relationship,"
"Well we're great, she moved in uhhh a couple months ago now,"
"Woah woah, move in?" She asks "why would you let her do that?"
"She didn't want to, actually begged me to leave her alone about it and it was a huge fight. She was kicked out for being bisexual," I explain "plus she's really helped me, she sleeps in an adjacent room unless I have a nightmare or am having a rough day,"
"You two seem adorable,"
"I love her Veronica," I say "she's the absolute best person I've ever met and she genuinely cares about me,"
"As long as you're happy," she sighs "ill be good with it,"
Reggie comes and sits beside Veronica.
"Hey babe," he says kissing her "what are you doing here?"
"I just met the person Cheryl's dating,"
"Oooo who is he?" He asks
"Do you not have your phone?" I ask
"Lost it,"
We talk for a couple minutes before I see Toni's bike pull in and she gets off the bike and walks inside.
"Hey Tones," I say as she sits down
"Hey babygirl," She says kissing my cheek "FP gave me a two day extension,"
"Really?"
"Mhm If you want we can do that roadtrip to Toronto starting tomorrow,"
"I thought you said you hate road trips,"
"I do- very much so, but I love you,"
"Blossom you're dating a serpent?" Reggie says
"I am reggie," I say looking at T
"Good for you," he says
"Look V, that's how you are supportive and not give my girlfriend a police interview,"
"Babe, I said it's fine," Toni laughs "at least she's being protective,"
"What's with the pink in your hair?" Veronica asks
"Mostly rebellion," Toni sighs "I was going to take it out but this cutie said she liked it," she says kissing my cheek
"So no reason?" She asks "when did you do it?"
"I did it maybe 7 months ago and I guess the colour would have a meaning but," she stutters and sighs "I don't talk about it,"
"I wanna know why,"
"Ronnie Stop it," I say "she doesn't need to tell you that,"
"It's pink for my mother," she says
"T you don't," I start
I don't even know why
"Babe, it's ok, it's not a big deal," she says "my mother died- Veronica. Of breast cancer last year, I didn't have an easy time with it," she sighs "went through a tough time and did this- got over it,"
"What?" I ask "I didn't know that,"
"I didn't want to tell you," she sighs "I'm an orphan and it's embarrassing. When we met I thought you had the perfect family, the perfect people and I didn't want you to judge me, I didn't know what to do and the longer we dated the more scared I got to tell you,"
She's looking at her hands and I put mine on top.
"Babe, you should talk to me about this stuff,"
She nods and looks back at Veronica.
"Happy now Lodge?"
"Sure," She says "suspicious still, but happy,"
I kiss Toni's cheek and side hug her.
"I love you babe," I whisper "forever,"
