Cory bent down to slip on his bright red running shoes. Sitting on the steps of his porch, he looked out to the large park in front of his house. He waited for his father to come around the corner of his block to pick him up.
"CORY COME HERE"
His mother yelled from the living room to the front door.
It took Cory no time to arrive. He went straight to the computer and bent down to view the screen. They approved his application and loved every word of it. This was no surprise to him though, his mother was the best writer he knew. However, he was taken by surprise when he learned what he won.
