You sighed as your maid was knocking at your door for the 8th time this hour. She was probably sent by my father to get me downstairs again. 'Oh, I hate family businesses.'

"Madam, your father is in need of your presence downstairs." She said, still knocking on the door. You turned to the door, "Okay fine. I'll come down soon."

She stopped knocking and started to walk away. You sighed in relief as you heard the footsteps getting fainter. You stood up and walked over to your closet and wore casual yet presentable clothes.

You walked out of your room and headed downstairs where you saw a woman in her 30s and a man around your age. They were talking to your father, and you didn't want to know what they were talking about.

You sat down beside your father angrily, crossing your arms and turning away from him. He turned to you then the guests, "I'm sorry about my daughter, she's just, not in the mood."

They accepted the apology as your father turned to you. "(Y/n)! You shouldn't show this attitude to your guests. He is your fiancée after all."

"I don't want to be his fiancé." You said stubbornly. He sighed and pardoned himself so that he could talk to you privately.

He dragged you to the kitchen, you still had your arms crossed and you weren't eyeing him. Not until he cancels this stupid arranged marriage.

"(Y/n)! They are our allies and we should help them. They've helped us before-" "I'm not saying we can't help them. I'm saying you should stop the marriage. I have a life too dad.." Was your last words until you stormed off, leaving the house and going to the backyard.

You sat down on a bench in front of a fountain. You were so mad and disgusted by your father.

He is the CEO of our company which was very, very successful. He had some other companies as allies and one of them was getting bankrupt. He himself told the company's CEO to arrange a marriage for you and his son. Pathetic.

You knew it was for the company's future but you don't even know the guy. He's a complete stranger to you.

You continued to vent in your thoughts until you felt someone tap your shoulder. You didn't want to turn around as you knew it was probably your father.

Until the person spoke, "I know you don't like the idea of this arranged marriage, and honestly, I do too." He had a rather soft voice. Curious, you turned to the person and it was the guy you were having this arranged marriage with. Or so your 'fiancée'.

He sat down beside you and threw something in the fountain, probably a coin of some sort. "I wish this marriage never happens." He muttered, closing his eyes.

"Say, what's your name. I've never really talked to you. Have I?" You asked when you suddenly remembered that you have never had an actual conversation with him.

He turned to you, "In fact, we never talked. But either way, my name is Lee Chan." He took out his hand for me to shake.

"I'm (Y/n). Nice to meet you." You shook his hand politely. He was a nice guy. Better than you expected.

"How was the talk with your dad? He went to us saying that you stormed off." He said, leaning his back against the bench. You sighed and also leaned back.

"I just told him my opinion about the arranged marriage." You replied calmly.

"I guess it wasn't a nice opinion huh?" He guessed. You nodded in defeat.

"Honestly, I was kinda annoyed about the idea that I was getting married to a complete stranger." He started off. "I thought you were those kinds of girls who would totally agree and would die just to be with a hot dude." He added.

"Well, you can't judge a book by its cover." You reverted your eyes to him. "And the last thing I would probably do in this world is to get married to some guy."

He chuckled, turning to you. "But you aren't that bad I gotta admit."

You scoffed. "I'm better."

"Cocky, I like i-" "(Y/n). Chan." Someone called out from behind us. We both turned to the owner of the voice and it was your father along with Chan's mother.

"We've made a decision to stop the marriage." Chan's mother spoke. Her voice was rather soft and delicate.

"I've thought about what you said and you were right. This is your life and you have your own decisions to make and I should respect that." Your father said.

You were about to reply but Chan did before you could.

"That's nice mom. Mr. (L/n). But I've actually taken an interest in your daughter. She's... A special one." He said making you widen your eyes in shock. "Wh-"

"I'm not saying that I want the marriage to continue immediately. I'm just saying that I want to give your daughter a chance Mr. (L/n)." He said gesturing to my father.

"She has a nice heart and a badass attitude. So please, would you let me?" He told your father.

You couldn't help but stay speechless. He was pretty handsome and he was a good guy but all of these feelings happened in just a matter of 10 minutes?

Your father turned to you before turning to Chan. "I will let you but if my daughter is not okay with it then sadly I cannot. It's for my daughter's preferences."

"I know at this time she doesn't like me nor know me that much but maybe after getting to know each other more, not rushing too much, I say we'll be the perfect couple in the history of our company." Chan said.

You couldn't help but smile. You didn't really know what it meant but it sounded like music to your ears.

Your father saw your reaction and let out a smile. "Looks like my little girl agrees so it's yes for me Chan."

Chan turned to you with a smile. "Don't worry. I'll make your the happiest girl ever. You deserve it."

You just nodded in shock and in joy. Who knew an arranged marriage can actually be a good thing?
