Chapter 20: Suspect

By the time they had gotten back, a cops car stood parked in front of the company and they could see two police man walking into the place.

"Did something happen?" Min-hi muttered diverting her view from the men and looking at Taehyung, who just drove past it not stopping at their workplace.

"What do you mean?" He mumbled nervously, but covered it up trying to act natural as Min-hi directed her finger to where they work, while slowly disappearing from their sight. "Weren't we supposed to get back?"

"Sorry, I forgot... I'll drop you off now" He spoke, making a quick u turn and dropping her near the place but not in front. "Is it okay if you walk from here? I still have to go somewhere else... I'm in a bit of a hurry..." He smiled, but one could clearly see he was uneasy and even she could notice that. It was inn-avoidable. He was pale but literally looked much paler than before.

She slowly stepped out of the vehicle and lowered herself, looking at him before closing the door. The way he seemed uneasy and pale, covered her with concern. "Tae... Are you okay? Do you feel sick?"

"Just a slight headache" He brushed it off with a subtle giggle.

"If you say so..." She sighed, closing the door and watching him drive off until he was no longer in sight. "I wander if he's okay..." She mumbled, crossing the road, the moment the light turned green, signalling that it would be okay to cross. Her heels tapping the floor, rushing to the other side amongst all the crowd that crossed the streets.

She clearly saw cops, going into her workplace and she wondered what it was about. The sound of her heels picked up it's pace as she rushed there as she let out small puffs of air from tiredness. She quickly adjusted her clothes and brushed her hair rapidly with her fingers, taking a deep breath and walking in to see the receptionist, breaking out in nervousness but letting out a sigh of relief as she took notice of her presence. "Min-hi!" she called her, signalling with her hand to come to her while two cops looked back to see her.

It was him again... that cop that passed Jungkook a ticket but he wasn't with the blonde boy this time. The moment she took in that specific cops appearance, the clear sound of a car squeaking and crashing... sirens... people crowding... 'Somebody call an ambulance!' One of the people in the crowd yelling'... It was unneeded flashbacks. Those were memories that she hated, that she wished it was just a bad nightmare, but unfortunately that wasn't the case and it was more than real. She shook it off and walked with her chin held high towards them, bowing softly as a form of greeting. It was simply to show some respect, even though, she couldn't believe she was seeing him again, she hated the sight of him.

Sadly, in life it's like this and it's actually amazing if one were to think about it really. I mean... have you seen the kind of tricks and games life pulls on us? The more you want to see someone the less they appear before you, but the more you want to avoid them just like the plague, the faster they find you and the more often they appear before you.

"They want to see Mr. Jungkook" She stuttered, explaining to her who they were looking for. "Is he not upstairs?" Min-hi asked her, but she shook her head from right to left.

"I see" Min-hi mumbled in seriousness. "It seems my boss isn't present at the moment, is there anything I could help you with?"

Both cleared their throats, glancing at each other which made her confused. She didn't understand what was going on at all. "Could you tell us your name?" He brought out his book and his pen, preparing to write something down. "Kim Min-Hi" She spoke with a confident tone but puzzled with what the heck was going on.

"Have we met before" The cop asked as she glanced at his name tag that was stuck to his uniform. She may not have remembered the name of the man that took away the most precious thing that she had in her life, but his face stuck to her like glue and it's a face that will follow her to her grave. "Mr... Seung gi? Is it?" She smiled. "I believe we have"
