Jungkook glanced at Min-hi with guilt pouring over him as heavy as the rain. "Min-hi... I... I'm really sorry... I..." but he got cut off by her. "... Jungkook..." she spoke out his name with so much sadness. "Why did you do it...?" Finding the courage to speak what's on her mind, but if felt so hard.
"I..." He tried making out his words but it was so difficult. He truly did love her. She wasn't suppose to go through this! His conscious weighed him down.
"I never intended...-"
"What did you never intend? For you to get caught?" Her voice trembled, trying to keep her composure.
"Yes,but no... you weren't suppose to be in the middle of this..." He nervously placed his hand over her hand, but her heart ached so much she subtly brushed it away from his.
"To what extent..." Her clear voice was undercut with a chocking heaviness that forced her to pause several times while trying to speak out. "Did you think about me even once when you were doing this or was it your plan to begin with Jungkook? It actually makes me wonder"
"It wasn't suppose to be like this... Taehyung took it too far...-" He tried talking but he himself was starting to feel like his heart had begun to reach his throat.
"So now you put the blame on taehyung" Min-hi took a deep breath as her hand clutched at her bed sheet.
"It's not like that-" She cut him off. Her nose became puffy, questioning his intentions and feelings "I found it weird when I saw my photo in your wardrobe" She paused. He must've planned this from the very start... It felt so difficult talking. Was it always this hard? She gulped as she tried holding in her hurt looking at him. "Did you ever even truly care about me or love me?!" Her watery eyes closed and a single tear, as clear as cascade of water flowed down her pinkish cheeks. Eventually she stopped trying and gave in to all the pain she held in and lowered her head in a quiet sob.
Last thing she wanted was for her brother to hear her and worry him even more. Worse yet, would be for him to spot the person that is most wanted in this country at the moment standing across from her, sitting on her bed.
He wanted to keep apologizing, but what would be the point. He'd been doing that from the moment he entered her space. He just wanted her to believe him but his heart just sank at how hurt she looked. The moment the lights went out, Min-hi who hated the dark didn't care. She just wished that everything was just a bad nightmare and when she woke everything would fall back into place. But that wasn't going to happen.
Jungkook just moved closer to her in the dark, barely seeing her. The only light that illuminated the room was the light that the moon gave away, along with the small flashes because of the frequent lightning.
He wanted her to hear him out but he didn't even know what to say anymore. "Please hear me out" He begged with his raspy voice, pulling her into a hug. "Don't touch me" She spoke between her sobs, not fighting her way out, because she was just exhausted. But he didn't listen to her and held her captive in his arms. "You lied to me" She continued sobbing. Letting out all the tears that she held in all this time. Hearing her pain, made him begin to sob too.
"I love you" He spoke with his shaky voice, burying his head on her shoulder near her neck, inhaling her raspberry sent, while his tears fell one by one, falling on to her skin. Holding her even tighter.
"Why are you crying?" She questioned, feeling even more hopeless. "If you cry too, what am I to do?" She spoke between her breaths, hugging him back too. They both felt so helpless.
The night felt so long yet so exhausting. Min-hi cried herself to sleep in his arms. Before the sun brightened the city, announcing that it was morning. Jungkook gently sled out of bed without waking her up. He kissed her forehead. "I'll make things right as long as you don't hate me". He slowly changed back to his clothing, folding in her brothers clothes and leaving it gently on top of the chair. He moved towards her desk and picked up a pin and a piece of paper, writing down everything he needed to say to her. He took a breath after a while and glanced at his watch. It was almost six in the morning. He looked back and came close to her just once more, placing his note on her bedside table. Brushing her hair away from her face and tucking it behind her ear, exposing the puffiness of her face from all the crying she did the night before. "I really love you" He muttered softly taking in her facial features for one last time before he left the room through the same way he came in.
By the time, Min-hi woke up, her head slightly hurt. She adjusted her eyes to the sun that brightened the room. It didn't even seem like yesterday had thundered and rained so much. Her eyes scanned the room , just to realise that Jungkook was no where near the room. He wasn't even sleeping on the floor like he was suppose to. He was simply... gone. She moved away from her bed, looking for him, opening the door to meet her brother in his pyjamas.
"Want coffee?" He asked with such a warm smile, which meant he must've left through the window without him spotting him.
"Is everything okay, Min-hi?" He asked worriedly. "A-ah yeah" Her expression looked so confused. "I'm just tired"
By the time, she reached back into her room, closing the door behind her, she saw the paper on her small table.
While she picked up the paper to begin reading Jungkook's message, he was already standing in front of the police station, with his mouth cover and black hoodie.
