With the night skies covered with the clouds that sheltered the stars from the city of Seoul, rain poured as if it were never to come to an end. Min-hi heard the whistles of the wind that cried out while she tried to sleep the reality of the situation away, along with the disappointment she felt. Although she couldn't deny her feelings for him.
She fast walked towards the window of her room to close it since the noises she was hearing and the loud sound of the wind bothered her, but she instantly froze with one hand on the window that was ready to close and the other on the frame. A black figured person stood there, against the outside of her wall, drenched from the cold tears that the sky cried out.
Her heart beat so fast that she was about to instantly close it, until he removed his hoodie and turned to face her. "What are you doing here...?" She asked, while the light bulb flickered in her room in tune with the loud thunder that had striked.
"Can I come in?..." He asked, trembling from the cold while his eyes shifted from left to right to check if anyone was watching. Her mind kept screaming for her to reject him and tell him to go away. "Jungkook... I-" She was about to form her words that felt so heavy for her lips to move. Thunder striked once more and he looked at her with that puppy like pleeding look. "Please" He muttered.
She felt that she was being stupid for doing so, but leaving him in the rain didn't feel right either. He probably didn't have anywhere else to go since the cops are looking for him...
She mentally scolded herself, just as she stepped to the right of her window not saying a word. He looked at her, feeling sorry and took her silence as an okay signal. Hands gripping the frame of her window and making his way in. He gently closed the window and looked at her with his clothes completely drenched.
"Min-hi..." He wanted to talk to her but her eyes didn't even want to look at him. His dark clothing, the sound of his breath panting... it annoyed her. Cutting whatever he was going to say, she interrupted him. "I'm going to get you some clothes for you to change in to... you look like a criminal right now..." and she shut the door behind her, not looking at him when saying that.
Those words stung as if she had pierced daggers in to him. She went through her oppa's clothing, where she found an old white track suit. Min-hi took a hold of it and brought in to the room. "Here" She threw it at him. "Thanks..." He mumbled in his saddened tone.
She quickly closed the door to give him some privacy and a sigh escaped while she walked to the kitchen to make some warm raspberry tea. Her fingers tapped the balcony with eyes shifting towards the clock which announced it was almost 10 pm.
Hardly did the machine warn the water was boiling hot, she poured it in to the mug and made her way back to her bedroom. "Are you done?" She asked and he opened the door for her. She eyed him up and down, mumbling "For you" passing him the hot mug while shutting the door behind her.
He sat on the corner of her bed, while she made her way to her small desk chair. "Do i look less criminal now..." He spoke gently trying to lighten the mood, even though his own words hurt him. It felt like he was pouring salt into his own wound and it really stung.
Min-hi didn't answer him and didn't find him funny at all in this particular time. She just played with the ends of her shirt to distract herself. Her throat felt like it had something stuck in it. She wanted to say so many things but at the same time she didn't want to utter a single word. Her lips felt like they had naturally glued to each other. They just simply didn't want to form a simple sentence. Silence seemed to be the best answer but it also felt like it was killing her on the inside.
Her emotions felt so messed up she didn't know how to handle them. She loved him and she felt relieved he was okay but at the same time she knew very well that if he did what he shouldn't have done, then he should at least take responsibility for his own actions.
"Min-hi..." He uttered her name softly and her eyes turned to look at him.
"I'm sorry..." He apologized which made her heart squeeze so tight it felt like it was stopping her from breathing. "For what..." She muttered innocently. She wanted to see if he would tell the truth.
"For everything..." he placed the mug on her bed side table.
"What's everything to you?" She turned her chair directly to him. Her question had taken him off guard and he gulped, feeling even worse. Silence filled the air and she felt like dying even more.
"Jungkook..." Min-hi mumbled, trying to gain the courage to talk. "Tae... isn't coming back is he?" and once more the room filled with silence. She brushed her hair back with her fingers, taking a deep breath. "Well that answers a lot..." she muttered with irony and he tightne his lips.
"Min-hi... I-" He was about to try and talk to her and just as the sound of the entry door slammed and Chang wook hummed his sisters name. His steps became closer and she looked at the Jungkook with a panicked expression. "Hide!" she pushed him to the side, which made him meet the floor in an instance, growning in pain from the sudden fall and hid underneath the side of her bed, while she made her way into her bed, rapidly snuggling in her warm blankets while the door opened and Chang Wook took a step in.
"What is it?" Min-hi asked, hoping that he wouldn't notice anything.
"I got some desserts on my way here. You want some? I figured you might want something sweet since you've been depressed for the past days..." He spoke waving the small box, wanting to cheer her up.
"I'm fine oppa... and I don't feel like sweets right now..." She denied his offer which made him pout.
"Everytime you say you're fine, you arent. Ever since the incident at your office you've seemed more dead than alive. Come on Min-hi... I hate it when you're like this" He pouted even more. "I know life is complicated and that you weren't ready for this type of situation... but you know I'll always have your back. Life is full of bumpy paths Min-hi... and this just happened to be one of them" He smiled at her warmly hoping that she would get back on her two feet.
"I'll be fine. I promise" Min-hi sighed at her hopeless brother but then again... Its always been the two of them.
"I'll give you some space" He sighed, closing the door and she quickly moved away from her bed to lock the door.
"You can come out now..." She signalled moving back to her bed as a guilty Jungkook moved away from his position and sat on the corner of her bed.
"Min-hi I... I'm really sorry... I..." He felt so bad for what she had to go through because of his doings that he didn't even know how place his words in the right place.
