Maia's POV:

I ran out of the room in frustration and slammed the door shut. I slumped down on the floor next to the room, with my head in my hands. I let out a sigh as I felt the floor beneath me crumble. Wrath is getting tortured because of me. Indistinguishable voices poured from the room but I could hear one sentence, loud and clear.

"When are you going to tell Maia that there is a possibility that she might explode like the Probus?"

I felt the air escape my lungs as I lost everything that bounded me to this place. I got up and made my way to the library. There was something about being surrounded by books that calmed me. I kept my head low, trying to avoid all sorts of eye contact and fled into the library. I sat down on the couches they had and held onto the book in my hand. I'm going to save Wrath and the Sins no matter what.

For the rest of the week, I trained for four hours, sat in the meeting room and argued for an hour, walked around with Joshua for about twenty minutes and spend the rest of the day with Dominic in the library. Dominic and I have become close and he helps me in getting all the information he can find about the Probus.

I walked over to the library, greeting him, "hey Domino's Pizza!"

With a wink, he replied, "hey hey Mayo."

"Anything new?" I asked.

He shook his head and I sat next to him on the huge tables placed in the middle of the library. I placed the notebook of notes on the Probus on the table. Dom and I stared at the notes, thinking of anything we could do. I had told him about what Valerie told me and he claimed it is his responsibility to find a way to avoid being 'boomed'.

Suddenly, on the blank page, black words sprawled out in a shaky handwriting:

Maia, Lucifer is gathering all his forces and is planning on attacking within a couple of hours. Please get to safety! Don't try to fight. I won't be myself, I will be under the influence of the Malum and I won't be able to live with myself if I hurt you.

Dominic and I exchanged glances. He asked, "who is that?"

A sad smile formed on my lips, "that is Wrath."

I picked up the pen and wrote down: did Lucifer do anything to you?

After sometime Wrath replied with one word that made something tick in me: yes. The black ink felt like poison that seeped into my body, slowly killing me. Fury built in me as I curled my fingers around my pen.

"Maia," Dominic breathed, "Maia!" He yelled.

I snapped my head into his direction and I saw a shocked face.

"Maia, you're...glowing," he said.

I arched an eyebrow and looked at my arm. There was a faint golden glow coming from my arm. My eyes widened as I ran out of the library to my room and looked in the mirror. The faint glow had significantly reduced but I could still see it. I saw Dominic behind me in the mirror, shock still clear on his face.

"Is this the Holy Light?" I asked, in a shaky voice.

He nodded slowly, "we need to warn the rest. I'll gather everyone. You go tell the Virtues."

We parted away but I spared a final look at myself in the mirror. The glow had faded completely and my natural skin colour had been restored. I sucked in a shaky breath and left to find the Virtues.

It wasn't hard to find them, they were all in the meeting room. As I entered at this unusual hour, all the heads turned to my direction. Valerie was slumped back her chair, she had a tired look on her face. All the Virtues had bags under their eyes and their perfect posture was replaced with a slouch. I wondered when was the last time they had slept. I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news but someone had to tell them of Lucifer's attack.

"I hate to ruin the mood," I started sarcastically, "but Wrath just wrote to me that Lucifer is going to attack soon."

As if it were planned, the door swung open with a bang, presenting a sweaty, panting and dishevelled man.

"We spotted the army. They are making their way to Heaven," he informed through ragged breaths.

All the light drained from the Virtues faces as my mum instructed, "sound the alarms."
