Sorry again! I know I've been updating super late, but it's actually harder to write a chapter now, because I just started my first job!
Still, I hope you enjoy!

Sora opened the door to the game, with Clammy already there, standing on the other side. She had a smug grin on her face. "Chess?" he asked. Clammy stated: "That's right. But with a twist to it. All of the pieces have a will of their own. If you order them to, they'll move. Your wish is their command." "So that's how you wanna play it." said (Y/N), grinning as she stood next to Sora.
Clammy's eyes widened at her appearance. She thought Fiel took care of her. Before she could say anything, though, (Y/N) giggled, saying: "Told ya, didn't I? I know when magic's used. Now, stop your foul play." Sora, now grinning, too, asked: "Are you really that scared of her?"
Clammy snapped, quickly saying: "No! Of course not! I don't even know what you're talking about!" "Sure, sure. Let's just start already." said (Y/N) as she lazily waved with her hand.
She then turned towards Shiro, saying: "Ready?" Shiro replied: "Chess is no different from tic-tac-toe." "Good. Clammy, you don't mind the three of us taking turns, right?" "Besides, you're the only one who really knows what this game's about." finished Sora.
"Do as you please." answered Clammy, already sure that she would win. Shiro got ready, with Clammy saying: "I'll let you do the first move." "Now then, let the games begin!"

"Aschente!"
I quickly turned towards Sora, whispering: "We're being watched. But... There's something else... I don't know what though." He patted my head, saying: "All right. Keep us updated." "Sure will." I replied with a small smile.
"D2 to D4." said Shiro, and the pawn started moving. Steph said: "I-It moved!" Clammy began her turn by saying: "G7 advance." Oh? Advance, huh?
"I-It moved three spaces? That's against the rules!" called Steph, but Clammy quickly said: "Have you already forgotten? The pieces in this game have wills of their own." "I see." stated Sora and I at the same time.
He continued: "The pieces react to the players charisma, ability to command, and aptitude as a leader when they move." "That's exactly right. Isn't it the perfect game for the crown?" Shiro said: "Knight to C3." "F7, advance." "E2 to E4."
I sat on the railing and bit on my nail, thinking of a strategy. "F5, take pawn." I took a quick glance at Shiro. Her concentration seems to have grown bigger since the game started. Pretty amazing. "Queen to H5. Check."
I ignored Steph and Sora's talking, just continuing to concentrate. The pieces have a mind of their own. In other words, they're 'alive'. Meaning... My eyes widened as I turned towards Shiro. Just then, she said: "F2 to F4."
But nothing happened.
"F2 to F4." Again, nothing happened. I quickly said: "That's not how it works. They have their own mind, meaning they don't want to die." "I see." said Sora, thinking. Shiro bit on her nail and thought. "What'll it be? You're running out of time, you know?" said Clammy, grinning at us.
I half glared at her as Shiro continued the game: "Knight, take H7." No movement. "A2 to A3." "Bishop advance, take the enemy knight." And the enemy piece did just that. "Knight, take H5." Nothing. "D4 to D5. A3... Bishop..." Shiro then lowered her head, seeing as she couldn't do anything anymore. "Sh-Shiro..." said Steph, trailing off. "I'm sorry... Nii, I... lost. I'm sorry."
She started crying, holding her head down. I watched as Sora hugged her, quickly comforting the poor girl. "Sora... Shiro..." said Steph, tearing up as well. Sora then lifted Shiro up, placing her on my lap. I gently hugged her and put a hand on her head in order to calm her down even more. I looked over at Sora, knowing what he'll do now.
He took a deep breathe, then yelled: "All hands, attention!" Steph and Clammy were clearly shocked, but I kept a straight face, knowing fully well what kind of speech he's about to tell. The pieces all turned towards us as Sora continued: "By my authority as king, soldiers who distinguish themselves in battle will be granted the privilege... To bang any woman they like!"
Wait, what?! I tried my best to keep my poker-face as he continued: "Furthermore, brave soldiers fighting at the forefront, should we emerge victorious, you will be relieved of military service, exempted from taxes, and handsomely rewarded for your valor! So please... You virgins, come back alive!"
Oh no... I think I've got the hang of it. We just need to motivate them. Raising my head high, I yelled: "Those of you who've left family or loved ones behind, we await your triumphant return!" Shortly after that, they broke out in a 'real' war. Fire lit everywhere and they started fighting.
Steph claimed: "What... Th-This is ridiculous!" Sora smiled a little, saying: "Thanks to you, I realized we aren't really playing chess. This is a strategy game." I nodded, saying: "I realized it too late. Sorry 'bout that, but..." "We can still win." finished Sora.
I nodded with a smile on my lips. He turned towards Shiro, saying: "Shiro, help me out if I start losing my head. Kick back for now. This game... Is right up my alley." I continued to smile and patted her head again. "Attention, Pawn Squad Six! The enemy is advancing on our front lines!" I called: "Take the initiative and attack!"
And so they did. "That's ridiculous!" claimed Clammy. Ha! Choose your rules better next time! Sora called: "Second Cavalry Unit, push through the route the pawns opened!" I continued: "King and Queen, get your asses to the front line already!"
Sora turned to face me, asking: "Why so aggressive all of a sudden?" I smirked at him, answering: "It's more fun this way~" He nodded with a small chuckle that made me blush a bit, but I shrugged it off, looking back at the game.
Clammy yelled: "Wait a second! It's my turn, isn't it?!" Sora and I both said: "What kind of idiot gives his enemy time to act?" She was fuming now. I giggled as she yelled: "All pawns, advance! Form a wall!" Sora laughed, saying: "Ha, look! Just look at those cowards huddling behind their men. What leaser sends his soldiers to fight while he kicks his back safe at home?!"
"What did you say?!" asked Clammy, clearly taken back. "Men, heed my words! The fate of Elkia, the sole remaining bastion of all humans, rest upon this battle." "Here and now will be decided who shall be entrusted with our future!" I continued.
Sora and I took turns talking: "Open your eyes!" "Do you really think..." "That dimwitted girl can make this great nation prosper?!" "On the other hand, if we emerge victorious..." "They will be your Queen."
He pointed at Shiro and myself as he continued his speech: "Yes, she who was brought to tears after being mercilessly cast aside. For you she suppressed her emotions, so that she could lead you to victory and into a brighter tomorrow!"
I pushed the hair out of her face, reviling her cute, round face. Sora locked eyes with me, saying: "And she, who is willing to put everything on the line for your victory. She is feared by nations, even gods, but she still sits here and awaits your return! And you call yourselves men?!"
I felt the blood rushing into my cheeks as he spoke. Feared by gods...? I shook my head and concentrated on the battlefield below us. This is more important now.
