[To the Eastern Union!]

Sora Pov:

I held the key that Steph gave me, saying: "No doubt about it. It's for his porn!" "I picked the wrong person after all." said Steph, already sulking. Jibril asked: "But where do you suppose is the door it opens, Master?" "There's only one place to hide porn: your room. In other words, here." stated Shiro. I smirked, saying: "Truth is, we'd already found it a long time ago." "Victory." said Shiro, showing the peace sign. "Huh?" I started to explain: "Remember how I told you the bed is slanted, making it hard to sleep on? Turns out it's part of a little puzzle. You go from there, do this, and..." I showed them how to do it, then (Y/N) did the last thing that was needed to open the secret door. She smiled, saying: "Oh, what a surprise! A secret room!" in a sarcastic, happy tone. I heard Steph saying: "I don't think that was supposed to go so smoothly." With that, I put the key in, then turned it. "It really works." said (Y/N) from next to me, grabbing me by my arm. I exchanged a quick glance with her and Shiro before opening the door. But what was inside was...

(Y/N) Pov:

"I leave this for my successor in hopes they won't be the one to let Elkia end, but instead restore it to its former glory. I am not a wise king. If anything, I surmise I'll enter the annals of history as the most foolish. However, I take up my pen for the savior of our people, one who succeeds where I failed. I pray... that my insignificant, pitiable struggle will not have been in vain, but aid the king who follows me." I read aloud. "I knew it. The previous king never lost his memories." stated Sora. I watched as Steph was focused on the book in front of us, then snapped out of it once Sora continued: "Imanitians are seen as lesser beings compared to the Elves and so on, so the Werebeasts didn't consider us a threat. They left his memories intact in hopes he'd keep trying again and again." "They wanted to lure him in?" asked Shiro. I nodded, answering: "They probably went easy on him, giving him false hope that he could actually win the next time he tried." "But despite realizing this, the previous king kept challenging them. All so he could figure out their tricks." added Sora. "He only wagered worthless land to take it back in the future." Jibril asked: "Then why did he never tell anyone how to win the Werebasts' game?" I answered: "Easy. The covenants." "He was probably forced to pledge that he'd never tell anyone for as long as he lived." finished Sora. Jibril said: "Then it was a fool's errand!" "The thing is..." started Sora. I continued: "...the pledge ended with his life." "He played eight times, exploited a loophole in the vows he made, and bet everything..." "on his successor." "Humanity's greatest gambler." we said together. Shiro asked: "That's why he used a gambling tournament to determine the next king?" "The previous king threw the dice, hoping that somewhere among the bottom-ranked Imanitians there'd be someone who could triumph against the other races." I took the book that I read from earlier, then handed it to Steph, saying: "Steph, written in here is the life of a great man pretending to be a fool. Always rushing, being defeated and defeated over and over again, all for the cause to figure out his opponent's weaknesses. This was him... betting on humanity." She looked at me with wide eyes as Sora, who as next to me, said: "Your grandfather... No, the previous king..." We both said: "You really resemble him." She hugged the book closer to her, falling to her knees. "Grandfather... Grandfather!" she cried. "He left us with quite the legacy, huh?" noted Sora. I took his hand, while Shiro took his other. Shiro said: "It's all right. If it's the three of us..." I smiled, as Sora said: "Jibril. Guys like that exist. Well, isn't it amazing?" He gestured to his shirt, which read 'I <3 humanity'. "You may have me convinced."

3rd Person Pov:

"Man, it's so pointlessly big." said Sora, looking up at the tall building in front of them, the Eastern Union Embassy in Elkia. Jibril asked: "Isn't it amusing they'd build something this large to compensate for their own smallness?" She giggled lightly as Steph asked: "By the way, why'd you bring me out here all of a sudden?" Sora, Shiro, (Y/N), and Jibril started to walk towards the tall building. Steph said: "Hey, wait! Embassies count as foreign soil, you know?!" Sora said: "Sure I do. I also know that this used to be our palace." "What I'm saying is that this is invading their country!" Steph had caught up with them, now walking next to the four. (Y/N) said: "Keep it down. We made an appointment. Right?" In front of them stood an old man with a tail and animal ears. He said: "Welcome, rulers of Elkia, Sora-dono, (Y/N)-dono, and Shiro-dono. I am Hatsuse Ino, deputy ambassador here at the Eastern Union Embassy in Elkia. Pleased to make your acquaintance." "Huh? When did you...?" asked Steph. Sora replied: "This morning. The old foggy looked right at me while I was in the library, so I signalled we'd be coming over. The Werebeasts' senses are as sharp as they say. I was surprised by how good his eyes were." "No, what I'm asking is-" Stephanie got cut off by Ino, who asked: "Would it be correct to assume you have business with Ambassador Hatsuse Izuna?" (Y/N) smiled, putting a hand on her hip, saying: "Glad to see you're quick on the uptake. We'll follow you." Ino stared at her for a few seconds, before turning around, saying: "Very well. Please follow me." With that, they followed after him.
