It had started storming later into the evening, keeping all the boys inside Roman's house. The road conditions were so bad that people were warned not to drive, unless it was an emergency. Roman's mom's texted him that they couldn't get home and that Remus was at Dee's house.

The boys were currently playing Apple's to Apple's in the living room.

"Obnoxious." Logan read a green card, "offensive, impulsive, annoying."

"My brother." Roman muttered, making Virgil laugh.

Suddenly, the power went out, plunging them all in darkness. Roman and Patton screamed, both latching on to their boyfriends.

"Sorry," Roman said quietly, "I hate the dark."

"M-me too." Patton whispered.

Lightning flashed and Patton screamed again, trying to hide in Virgil's arms. The emo could feel the boy shaking.

"Maybe we could find some lights?" Virgil suggested.

Roman nodded in the dim light, "y-yeah, I think we have a camping lantern in the garage."

"I'll help you find it." Logan whispered.

The two got up and left to find the lantern. Patton curled himself further into Virgil's arms as another flash crashed through the air.

"Patt? Are you okay?" Virgil asked.

"I d-don't like l-lightning." Patton whimpered.

"Here." Virgil took his headphones from around his neck and slid them over Patton's ears.

The emo plugged the headphones into his phone and clicked on a song.

I will fight
I will fight for you
I always do until my heart
Is black and blue

And I will stay
I will stay with you
We'll make it to the other side
Like lovers do

I'll reach my hands out in the dark
And wait for yours to interlock
I'll wait for you
I'll wait for you

Patton gently hand the headphones, leaning against his boyfriend.

Cause I'm not givin' up
I'm not givin' up, givin' up
No, not yet
Even when I'm down to my last breath
Even when they say there's nothin' left
So don't give up on

I'm not givin' up
I'm not givin' up, givin' up
No, not me
Even when nobody else believes
I'm not goin' down that easily
So don't give up on me

"I didn't know you liked this kind of music." Patton whispered.

Virgil shrugged, "it's a good song."

Patton nodded, smiling softly.

And I will hold
I'll hold onto you
No matter what this world'll throw
It won't shake me loose

I'll reach my hands out in the dark
And wait for yours to interlock
I'll wait for you
I'll wait for you

Patton slipped his hand into Virgil's, who gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

Cause I'm not givin' up
I'm not givin' up, givin' up
No, not yet
Even when I'm down to my last breath
Even when they say there's nothin' left
So don't give up on

I'm not givin' up
I'm not givin' up, givin' up
No, not me
Even when nobody else believes
I'm not goin' down that easily
So don't give up on me

Virgil started rocking them slightly, still holding Patton securely.

Whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah

I will fight
I will fight for you
I always do until my heart
Is black and blue

Light suddenly flooded the room as Roman triumphantly marched into the room, "we found the lantern!"

Patton giggled, "okay! Let's finish our game!"
