Vol. 7

Twins are about to be reunited. They each thought the other was dead. What happens when they find out that was all a lie?

~~Present day ~~

"Dad!" Remy called, catching Remus as he slumped to the floor.

Patton and Logan ran up that stairs, followed closely by Roman.

"Rem!" Patton ran to where the boy was kneeling.

"What happened?" Logan asked.

"He started panicking, I didn't know what to do!" Remy gasped.

Patton hugged the younger boy, "you're okay. You didn't do anything wrong."

"He said Deceit was like a father to him." Remy spoke, tucking his head on Patton's chest, "he said his name was-"

"Remus?"

Everyone turned to look at Roman. The boy was shaking slightly, tears in his eyes.

"Roman?" Logan asked, "are you okay?"

"I thought he was dead." Roman choked on his words, "Deceit said he was dead. H-he said it was my fault and I-"

"Roman, talk to us." Logan said calmly, "what happened? Do you know him?"

Roman looked Logan dead in the eyes, "Remus is my twin."

A silence fell over the room. Remus stirred and everyone tensed. The boy sat up, holding his head.

"Kiddo?" Patton asked quietly,  reaching out to the boy.

Remus jumped back, staring wide eyed at everyone around him.

"Remus?" Roman took a step forward.

"Roman?" Remus whimpered.

"I thought you were dead." Roman sniffed, wiping his eyes.

"Deceit lied to both of you." Remy said.

"W-what happens now?" Remus asked.

"You could join us for dinner?" Patton offered, "we're having pizza."

Remus tilted his head, "what's pizza?"

Remy looked at him, confused, "I thought you said Deceit fed you?"

"He... He did." Remus said, "I've just never heard of pizza."

"Well, if you would like to join us, we'll be downstairs." Logan told him.

Remus nodded. Patton picked up Remy and followed Logan downstairs. Roman stayed.

"You're... alive?" Roman said quietly, "it's been so long."

Remus nodded, "we were so young..."

"Now we're all grown up." Roman laughed, rubbing his eyes.

Remus smiled and nodded, "yeah."

Roman cleared his throat, "do you, um, want to come down for dinner?"

"No." Remus shook his head, "I need to think through stuff."

"Okay." Roman nodded, "do you want me to bring you some pizza?"

"Is it good?" Remus asked.

Roman smiled, "it's amazing."

Remus gave a small smile back, "sure. I'll try some."

Roman nodded, "I'll be back soon."

Remus' smile slipped into a frown. His brother was alive and Pathos wasn't a cold blooded killer. What other lies had Deceit told him?
