Deceit is back... as a child? What happened last year? How will the boys feel about this?

~~Present day ~~

Dee blinked as he entered the sunlight, "woah... it's so bright! And there's colours!"

Patton chuckled, "yeah."

Virgil tugged on his dad's sleeve, 'does Dee know about his powers?'

"I don't know kiddo." Patton told him, "he wouldn't be able to do anything if he did, he's only six."

'Roman scared him.' Virgil signed, 'I don't think he's faking this.'

"Would you be okay if he stayed then?" Patton asked.

Virgil shrugged.

There was a loud thump. Roman fell to his knees, coughing up blood.

"Ro!" Patton rushed over.

"What happened?" Logan asked, kneeling by his husband and son.

"He has some internal damage from the cave in." Patton said.

"W-what does that mean?" Dee asked, his voice small.

"It means he was hurt on the inside." Logan explained to the child.

"What?!" Dee squeaked.

"He'll be okay." Remus said, petting the boys head, "Dad can fix him right up!"

"H-how?" Dee asked, looking up at Remus with wide eyes.

Remus smirked, "Dad has powers that can heal people!"

Dee gasped, "that's so cool! I wish I had powers!"

Logan looked confused, "you don't have powers?"

Dee shook his head, shrinking back a little, "is... is that bad?"

Patton glanced at Virgil with a small smile, "of course it's not kiddo."

Virgil seemed to relax a little. Roman groaned and sat up.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Ro!" Dee cheered, jumping on the other boy.

Roman chuckled, ruffling the smaller boys hair, "I'm okay."

"You had some internal damage from the cave in kiddo." Patton explained, "You gave us quite the scare."

"Sorry." Roman said.

"Is everyone okay?" Remy asked, walking up with Fish.

"Everyone's fine Rem." Logan told him.

Fish trotted closer to Dee, who shrunk back from the dog.

"W-whats that?" Dee asked nervously.

"This is Fish. He's our dog." Roman smiled, petting the puppy.

"D-deceit?" Remy stammered, "h-how? W-what?"

"Its okay." Patton said, rushing to comfort his son, "he's six and he doesn't remember anything."

"How?" Remy asked, looking at the child who was now petting the dog.

Patton shrugged, "we don't know."

Dee walked up to Remy, who stiffened. The child pointed to Remus sunglasses.

"What are those?" He asked, "they look so cool!"

Remy chuckled, "they're called sunglasses. They make everything dark so it doesn't hurt my eyes."

"Why would your eyes hurt?" Dee asked.

Remy looked at ground, "someone hurt me a long time ago. All of us have some scars from him."

Everyone got quiet. Patton cleared his throat.

"Why don't we all go back to camp and roast some marshmallows, huh?" Patton suggested.

"Whats marshmallows?" Dee looked around.

Remy gasped, "it's only the best thing ever to put in coffee."

"And coco!" Roman and Remus said simultaneously.

"A-and to di-dip in ch-choc-chocolate." Virgil muttered with a small smile.

Logan smiled, "why don't we go eat some now?"

The boys nodded, starting back to the campsite. Patton and Logan smiled at each other.

"I don't think we're gonna have a problem with Dee." Patton giggled.

Logan smiled and kissed his husband softly, "I don't either."
