Keith

Flames. The bright orange and blues of the waves of heat as the building charred slowly as time passed.

"Back up! It's too much!"

"I'm going in! Keith, I love you..."

"PAPA NO!"

"I will always be with you, Akira... You'll be a hero. I promise... Just look at this knife and speak to it whenever you need guidance..."

"Bullshit promise..." I mumble as I stare at the glimmering knife, unwrapping the papers before looking at the glowing purple symbol. "What does this even mean...?"

"What does what mean?" A voice breaks my train of thought as I drop the metal onto my bed before looking at the door to see a brunette covering his mouth while snickering before he walks over, sitting on the bed next to me with a smirk on his face.

"James, I swear if you don't leave. I'm in the middle of something." I hiss as I hide the knife underneath my body since it's not allowed in the orphanage.

"Watching porn isn't something you should be ashamed of. We all do it. We're alphas and betas after all." The boy smirks before patting my head. "Well, mostly alphas, betas and a non-presented."

"No need to make fun of me. I'm a late bloomer. I'll be the best alpha at this orphanage and soon, the Garrison will scout us and we'll become the top students." I sighed as I highfived my best friend as he chuckled.

"Don't you know it! How about we go down to dinner? Ms. Lynn told me to come up here to get you." The husky pointed out the door. "We have dinner, recreational, and an announcement."

"Why recreational? Who wants to paint on a cookie that went stale again~? Not a chance." I scoffed as I sat up while James moved towards the door, extending his arm out to wrap it around my shoulders.

"But hey! At least I got insiders from the Juniors about a party for people to get into the Garrison. Exams are apparently in two weeks and the party three days afterward. It's a good chance to meet our upper class-men and find an omega for when you present bro!"

"You know I don't do parties. And it's my turn to do chores that day..." I bite my lip as we exit the room, his arm wrapped around my shoulder. "I have to make dinner, sweep the floor, clear the garage, take out the garbage and clean our room. You know we can't skip that."

"I'll ask Marissa since she isn't going. You going if I have anything to say about it. You aren't passing this up. You could meet Shiro or even Hugo at this party." He brought up as my eyes gleamed with appreciation before nodding slowly.

"Fine... I'll go. But there better be food." I chuckled as he rolled his eyes.

"I'll buy you McDonalds if not. Yes! Now I won't be lonely. Now let's hurry up! I'm starving."

Hide.

Stopping in my tracks, I grip my head as James continues to move forward; stopping to look back at me in confusion. "Dude... you... ok?"

Blinking slowly, I tried to take a step forward before kneeling to the ground; hissing in pain. "I-I don't feel so good..."

"How... old... you?" He asked frantically as I coughed before wheezing at the flood of burnt sugar and Azaleas flooded my nostrils; covering my nose as well.
