Chapter 20- "X-rays"

(Reficul's POV)

           The werewolf boy's mate was driving me and my brother to go get x-rays done. apparently he had connections with someone who ran a small hospital about an hour away from town, i'm guessing that's where his blood stock comes from. When we arrived we all got out but instead of going through the entrance doors we went around to the side and Nathan? i think....pulled a few large leaves off of a large storm cellar door. he opened it and we all headed inside.....it smelled like a hospital that's for sure.....inside there was a desk covered with old looking journals, loose papers, pens, pencils, even ink that's used with quill pens. there were some odd looking machines, several counters, huge book shelves and rather large refrigerators. then out of no where some old crazy-looking guy comes in and Nathan calls him Morris. he has grey hair that sticks straight up, round rimmed glasses, a white lab coat, tan pants, black rubber gloves, and rubber boots....all in all.....this guy looks insane or crazy....most likely both.

         "Long time no see Nathan." so his name is Nathan, looks like i got it right.

         "Too long Morris." he started pulling off his rubber gloves and throwing them onto a counter.

         "So, what can i do for you?"

         "I need full body x-rays of these two and a copy of what a full body x-ray of an archangel looks like." he nodded and gestured for us to follow him.....i had to tug Natas's arm for him to start following, he seemed creeped out by the guy more than i was.

          "Now, one of you's take off your shirt and shoes as well as any metals or jewelry." Natas seemed worried so i went first to show him it was ok.

           "Good, now just lay down on the scanning bed with your hands down at your sides and just relax." i nodded and layed down. he walked over and turned the machine on and a ray of light started to go slowly down my body, starting with my head and all the way down to my toes. a few minutes later he told me that i could get up and told Natas it was his turn and for him to do the exact same thing that i had just did. while i was putting my shirt and shoes back on, Natas was already hesitantly laying back on the scanning bed. After he was done, the weird old guy handed Nathan three folders, one labeled 'ArchAngel x-ray' and then one labeled '1' and the other '2'.......

           "Thanks Morris."

           "No problem.....oh and by the way i'll be sending you some more blood next week or so."

           "Alright, thanks for letting me know."

           "Your welcome....and i hope i'll see you two here again.....i could make tea and we could get to know each other. mmmhhhh?" Natas was squeezed my hand tightly and moved on the opposite side of me from where this crazy guy was.

            "Uh, sure maybe we'll see each other again." with that i quickly followed after Nathan with Natas right behind me. we headed back outside through the cellar door and over to his car. Once we were driving away i spoke.

              "Who the hell was that guy?"

              "An old friend."

             "How'd you two become friends?" he gripped the steering wheel tightly and didn't say anything, maybe i should change the topic.

              "Since you and Alex are mates can you tell me how it first happened........like were one of you not willing or mean to the other and how you two overcame that?" i don't know why i'm asking him.....but the answer could help me with my mate.......he sighed,

               "Having mate problems huh?"

               "Yeah.....so can you tell me about what happened with you and Alex?" there was a long silence in the car and i thought he wasn't going to tell me but then he started talking.

               "First off as you know, how strong the begining bound is depends on both of your species and mindsets........since i was a vampire and Alex was a werewolf.....it hit Alex hard but it only affected me a little bit....." i nodded so he continued. "Alex usually does what he's told and rarely breaks the rules where as i don't give a crap about some stupid set of rules and i don't like people who try telling me what to do......besides Alex of course....." i nodded again, "Alex had just turned fourteen and was training with his pack's teacher how to fight since they weren't wolves yet.....i was promised alot of money to kill the class off and so me being me i went to go do it but the first one i encountered was Alex....he was good at fighting and during our little duel, our skin made contact somewhere....Alex immediately stopped attacking me but i still could because i didn't fall in love just due to the skin contact like he did, and since at the time i didn't want any emotions for someone because i believed that emotions are what destroy you, i tried really hard to actually kill him...so while i was attacking, he was only blocking. i managed to pin him to the ground and just when i was about to slit his throat with my claws, he reached up and wrapped his arms around my neck and before i could even register what was happening, i was already down on my back, with him on top and kissing me and so my instincts kicked in and started returning the kiss........after that i was hooked and in love with him, and since he's the only one i've ever cared about before i became a vampire.....i'll do whatever he asks me to......." i nodded while i processed everything that was important to my case.....so if  i were to make out with my mate for awhile then eventually he'll give in and fall for me? would it work since i'm a Legnahcra and he's a human? i guess its worth a shot.....but first maybe i could ask Alex for his point of view from it too, i mean i normally wouldn't ask people for advice and stuff but i was desperate here since i had heard that Marko has a girlfriend, and this really isn't fair! my 'Satan' part of me wants to kill her but i don't want to kill anyone anymore....that's why me and Natas had decided to turn our backs on our father. if i were to kill her then i'd be like my father....when we got back i headed upstairs and into my room. i threw off my shirt and shoes then climbed into bed....i couldn't fall asleep though, the fact that my mate was with someone else and didn't care for me made my heart hurt badly....this isn't fair......
