Chapter 29-"Iris"

(Reficul's POV)

When the final bell rang i headed outside to meet Iris. I found her sitting on the top step far off to the side as to not get trampled on, clutching her bag to her protectively. Her beautiful long blond curly hair being blown by the wind, her deep green eyes shimmering full of beauty but also of sadness and pain, a look i was once all too familiar with. She had a sweat shirt on to cover up the stain on her white short-sleeved button down shirt........I walked over to her.

"Hey." i smiled at her and she smiled back.......that smile on her face and knowing that i had caused it made me feel......happy?..... "So, what do you want to do today?"

"Oh, uhm.....i don't really know.....want do friends normally do?"

"I really don't know either, for starters though we could just go for a walk through that place called a 'mall' that Storm told me about how groups of friends hang out there all the time?" She giggled and nodded enthusiastically. I motioned for her to follow me over to my car.....we both got in and i pulled out, using my phone'sGPS thing that knows where the mall is and how i am to go about finding it. When we arrived i parked the car in one of the parking spots and we headed inside one of the doors. When we entered, their were clothes everywhere......along with several people. Iris looked around at the clothes as we walked on the pathway through the store. When she glanced at a certain dress i saw how her eyes lit up and knew she wanted it.

"Why don't you get it?"

"Uh? oh, i don't have any money so......"

"I'll buy it for you if you want it."

"What no, i couldn't ask you to...."

"Don't be silly its fine, my new family is rich so...."

"New family?....." she repeated it silently and then turned to look at me fully.

"Can i....can i....try it on first then? i'd hate to waist your money if it doesn't fit me." I nodded and realized that from the schooling i had received on humans i began wondering if normal friends bought clothes and things like that for each other? Oh well, i'm not human so i guess it doesn't matter. While she was in the 'changing room' i looked around a bit more but didn't stray too far away. When she walked over to me she had the dress draped over her left arm and she was smiling a smile so bright i was nearly blinded by it......at that moment i felt as if something inside of me had disappeared, and it was a nice feeling.....it was if all my doubts and worries had vanished. We walked over to the check out line, I learned that it was called a'purple strapless glitter mesh dress'and after it was paid for and bagged up we headed further into the mall. I was impressed to find that they had a lovely water fountain in the center, the sound of the rushing water soothing and peaceful. We walked past several stores, I looked over at Iris.

"You know, we can go to whatever store you want and if you want to get something i'll get it for you..." i don't know why i was being so kind and nice.....its just...something about her makes me want to make her happy.....i don't understand this feeling at all. She smiled that wonderful smile and nodded her head.

"In that case, can we go get smoothies from Mr. smoothies that's right up here?"

"Sure." I smiled back at her.....this girl made me want to please her and protect her. After i bought us both smoothies we walked over to the court to sit down. while seated i kept trying to figure out why i felt this way for Iris. I know she's not my soul mate, Marko is.......she is not of my bloodline though i feel as if she's my little sister, and I am sure that i have never met her before so why---Wait, is that even possible?---Is she----is she my Dependent Soul???
